The rituals to the deity of Jagannatha in the procession are traditionally performed by members of the Surangi royal family. The chariot at the Jagannath temple in Surangi was pulled and the traditional rituals called Chhera were performed by the Raj Purohits or temple priest of the temple in recent years. Hundreds of people, including the tribal villagers from the neighbouring villages in Andhra Pradesh gathered to pull the chariot for the festival.

Why is the chariot at the Surangi Jagannath temple pulled a day late, and not on the same day as the Puri Jaganath temple? The locals say that the then Maharaja of Surangi ruled the precedent for the chariot to be pulled the next day as the entire village would travel to the neighbouring village of Jarada to help them pull their chariot to begin the festivities.

The Surangi maharajas ruled this region till the Privy Purse was abolished and the province was merged with the State of Andhra Pradesh. The residential palace of the kings stands till today majestically at Icchapuram and represents the architectural style of Kalinga construction. The Kings patronized arts, letters, education and the Oriya language.

Arts and Culture in the Surangi Kingdom
The Surangi Maharajas were patrons of art and literature. One such passion of the Maharajas was the Prahalada Nataka, a traditional play depicting the child-Saint of Hindu history - Bhakta Prahalada, enacted in Odisha. Kishore Chandra Harichandan Jagadeo Ray, a former Maharaja of Surangi was particularly known for producing plays on the same theme as Prahalada Nataka.

Towards the end of 1900 and early zoth century Maharaja Chandra Chudamani Harish Chandra Jagadev [1876-1931] shifted from Surangi Garh and built the mahal in Ichchapuram, which later came to be known as Surangi Raja Mahal, which is a local landmark and revered by the local people. The Surangi Dynasty has donated many social and developmental places in the town, namely the school building, college building, many government offices, municipal water tank, town recreation centre, government tourism park, to name a few. There are also a few other erstwhile princely properties in the neighbourhood like a theatre (cinema hall) and flour mill which are abandoned presently, whereas the Raja Mahal still stands as the symbol of power for the erstwhile rulers of the region.

In the graph below, peaks at the far left and far right persisted (reduced amplitude) and a new signal appeared at 0.20, indicating a significant shift towards sympathetic arousal to match the energy of Swamiji's heart.
In the graph below, a new peak appears at the far left, indicating robust sympathetic arousal, which mirrored Swamiji's spectral signal (not shown).
It was concluded that the subject's heart rhythms entrained to those of HDH Nithyananda Parama during the healing session. According to His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam, healing happens through the very process of entanglement. Telomere is the compound structure at the end of a chromosome which shrinks with age. Increases in telomere length indicate reversal of aging. Research conducted by University of Bangalore revealed that measurable increases in telomere length were recorded in participants in programs with HDH.
Summary Statistical analysis reveals that more than 45% participants showed more than one-fold change post the Inner Awakening® program. This is a significant increase in telomerase activity in as short a period as 3 weeks.

Impacts of an Incarnation's spiritual initiation on health: HEALTHIER DNA STUDY GROUP: Participants from the 21-day Inner Awakening meditation program
DNA Research by University of Bangalore into health changes of being in the presence of HDH discovered that the DNA of participants morphs, shifting pathways to healthier forms. This research duplicated research done at Harvard University which also measured changes in DNA. This research produced more impactful results in a shorter time.

Materialisation of objects captured in CT Scans
On 6 September 2011 Scientific validation of materialization was conducted by the Clumax Diagnostics Center in Bengaluru, South India. In 3 different sessions HDH demonstrated brain entrainment with a disciple, whose body then spontaneously materialized sacred stones through the mouth.

"One week ago several news media channels had come to me, asking me to comment about Nithyananda Swamiji and I said – He is the backbone of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism).
All the people who are connected to Swamiji H.H. Paramahamsa Nithyananda are very much fortunate. Today, I consider myself also fortunate as I am connected to Swamiji. In the topic of this great ascetic saint, it is my belief that on the strength of tapas (penance) and dhyana (meditation), man becomes transformed into Divine.

Nirahara Samyama
Nirahara Samyama means exploring and discovering our body's possibility without having any external input like food or water.
The purpose of the Samyama is to awaken our own natural intelligence of making food out of natural resources like sun rays, air and the praana which is directly available to us from the space. Swamiji says if fish can swim, we can swim, if bird can fly, we can fly and if plants can make food directly from the air and sun rays, our body can also do that. Every extraordinary capability and possibility is inside our bio memory.

In Ontario, we derive strength and vitality from our cultural and spiritual diversity. We speak every language, respect all faiths and have ties to every part of the world. Our differences define us, but never divide us. Ontario is proud to be home to a dynamic and diverse Hindu community. The rich traditions of this community have made Ontario a more dynamic place to live.
This spiritual gathering is about raising the collective consciousness of those in attendance, as well as, promoting peace, harmony and well-being. I extend my appreciation to the dedicated organizers and volunteers for staging this worthwhile event. Neurological Research at Apollo Hospital
Tests conducted through Functional Magnetic Resonance Imagine (fMRI) showed that the brain activity of Gurukul Balasanths while manifesting powers or blindfold reading was extremely low - a state exhibited previously by HDH Nithyananda Paramashivam when he enters into a state of Samadhi. Even though the balasanths are wide awake and engaging in conversation and movement, their brain activity becomes low, falling into a state called 'restful awareness', mirroring the samadhi state of the avatar.
