52. Assassins try to Burn Him Alive in Bengaluru Aadheenam

A safe entry into Bengaluru Aadheenam, spiritual headquarters

3 March 2010: His Divine Holiness along with the group of sanyasis reached Bengaluru Aadheenam from Salem on the morning of 3rd March. The Sanyasis entered the aadheenam through the less used side gate which has closer proximity to the highway.

They arrived and settled His Divine Holiness inside the quarters that was linked to the side exit. They then assisted Him in freshening up. He did not want to eat anything. They saved His meal that was packed in Salem and they themselves quickly ate the food that they had brought from there.

The horrifying attack begins

At around 11:30 am, news started pouring in through multiple phone calls on various mobile phones, that the Bengaluru Aadheenam was being attacked in full force from several directions. The Sanyasis heard of blazing fires, inhuman manhandling, aadheenavasis running helter skelter and more. News came from the main security gate that a bunch of assassins had gathered there, shouting slogans asking for His Divine Holiness to come out. They were demanding to see Him. They broke the compound wall and smashed the security cabins and other structures at the entrance.

The security and handful of sanyasis at the main gate were totally outnumbered as the assassins started jumping over the gate and side walls into the aadheenam premises. They rushed everywhere armed with petrol bombs and acid. They carried weapons like chains, iron rods and other explosives.

03 March 2010 : In picture above, the huts with thatched roofs set on fire. Various parts of the monastery set on fire. Building were set on fire with residents purposely locked inside by the attackers. In monasteries doors are generally not locked. Before setting buildings on fire it was purposefully locked by attackers to burn everyone inside it alive.

The assassins lit fire to the dry palm leaves which formed the roof of the living quarters for the sanyasis. The fire spread rapidly and within minutes burned down the mattresses, charing it to soot. The residents ran out of the building to diffuse the fires by throwing buckets of water on them hoping to save some of the belongings. When they realised it was futile, they ran from one building to the next in order to secure themselves from the assassins. All the female residents were instructed to lock themselves up in one of the innermost rooms.

Direct attack on the quarters of His Divine Holiness

The assassins with fireballs and explosives, attacked the very building where His Divine Holiness was staying with His assistants. In a terrifying series of events, the attackers locked all the doors to the structure from outside, and threw petrol bombs on it. They ignited the thatch roof with the clear plan to kill His Divine Holiness.

By then, the panic-stricken Sanyasis, after hearing the updates about the approaching assassins, gathered a few essentials and along with His Divine Holiness was about to leave the quarters to take Him to the vehicle that was waiting near the rear restroom exit.

Just as they were moving to the vehicle, the roof was set ablaze. They could not believe what was happening. Without getting diverted by the blazing fire, they literally pushed His Divine Holiness into the vehicle, jumped in themselves and sped away.

Running for survival - on the road again

They hit the highway within minutes without the assassins sighting their departure. Panic was rushing through their veins as they sped off on the Mysore - Bengaluru highway. Only when the disciples confirmed they were not being chased did they slow down a bit.

Now the question on everyone's mind was: where to find a safe haven. A unanimous and quick decision was made to go to the relatively small aadheenam in Hosur, tucked away surrounded by agricultural fields, merely an hour and a half away. They sped off towards Hosur aadheenam in Tamilnadu.

One of the senior Sanyasis (monks) - Ma Nithya Bhaktikananda Swami - who was present inside the Bengaluru Aadheenam during the attack, recollects the horrific events of the morning:

The next day morning (March 3rd, 2010), there was a pandemonium at the gate. We barely had a compound wall. The media came like vultures. Assassins entered from all over.

The Bengaluru Aadheenam was under attack from all around. We were being covered in the news continuously, not as victims but as accused! Accused of what? Of featuring in a fabricated video created by someone else! It was utter injustice and persecution of a completely clueless and innocent community. There was fire blazing, media persons running rampant, tussles between the Sanyasis and the assassins in the utterly vulnerable situation, police, mobsters and what not... They had

successfully converted a peaceful and serving Aadheenam to a warfield of terror and confusion.

We were all huddled in the Ananda sabha with our belongings. We had to somehow walk over and enter Anandapuri where we would be relatively safer. But we could not leave the Ananda sabha because the assassins had entered the premises. Swamiji was in the aadheenam, and we did not have the courage to think about what might be happening to Him. We knew there was a team taking care of Him, and that was all we could handle at the time.

The nightmare news reached us – the attackers had set ablaze the thatched roof structure where Swamiji was staying. We just held our malas (rosaries with Swamiji's pendant) tightly and continued to pray, not daring to think about what might be happening there. After some time, news reached us that Swamiji had exited the campus safely. We heaved a mighty sigh of relief. Our life energy was restored. Shortly, we managed to run over and enter Anandapuri.

Vandalism of property

Catching wind of His safe exit, the assassinators went ahead and defaced Paramahamsa Nithyananda's posters with brutal force, using even their footwears to mutilate them, making their agenda clear: they wanted to eliminate Him from the face of the Planet. They inflicted extensive damage to property, stoning and burning the Aadheenam premises. There was terror in the Aadheenam amidst the residents to protect the life of their beloved Guru who was also the lifeline of millions of seekers worldwide.

Salvaging sacred sentiments from the ashes, lakhs of Rupees worth of damage, irreparable losses

The devotees who had come in by then, saw the entire scene of blazing fire and torn and vandalised property. Terrorized by the life-attack on their beloved Guru, the devotees started putting out the fire to salvage what they could. The whole heritage was vandalized and destroyed in the fire, which burned out the building from top to bottom. From the books, rudraksha malas (sacred rosaries), devotional music, audio and video equipment, nothing was left when the fire was extinguished. The place was their temple of worship. They were shocked and heavily saddened by this brutal crime of the assassins.

Conclusion - Mass Euphoria to Kill

During this riot in the ashram, even the daily essentials like the food and milk supplies which arrived in the Ashram to be consumed for the residents was thrown and damaged to deprive the community of food. The whole campus was ravaged, demolished and a fear psychosis was generated. After the riots in the ashram, 121 residents got admitted into the hospital with major injuries such as bone fracture, acid injuries and burn injuries. Several children went through psychological trauma.

It was a well planned strategy of the crime perpetrators who wanted to lend the victim helpless and non-defensible by demolishing his establishment and his community.

It is well-known that in India, mob-lynching is a clear strategy to eliminate someone without any particular individual or organisation to blame for it. Hindu terrorist groups such as Bajrang Dal and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), who are looking to destroy all Guru-based traditions, have been known to use such strategies. In the case of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, this is exactly what was attempted.

To ensure that His Divine Holiness would be terminated, the mob lynching attack spread like a wildfire across all the monasteries of the organizations. Hundreds of Sanyasis (monks) were physically attacked, crores of property was burnt and damaged, the revered sacred worshipped deities were defecated.

In Tiruvannamalai, the birth place of His Divine Holiness, members of Hindu Makkal Katchi, a group of Hindu leaders attacked the ashram, and upon not finding Him there, gave full vent on the Sanyasis living in the ashram. Similarly several ashrams in South India, the barbarous assassins' attack happened.

His Divine Holiness arrives at the Hosur Aadheenam, Tamil Nadu

3 March 2010 : Much to the surprise of the Hosur devotees, the car carrying His Divine Holiness arrived in the afternoon at the quiet and secluded aadheenam in Hosur. The devotees were too terrorised to venture in any way towards the Sanyasis under the given circumstances. They waited for instructions and they watched in disbelief their beloved Guru in their own Aadheenam! They watched everything that followed, in dead silence. They didn't know whether to offer to cook food or ask if any help was required. They concluded that the Sanyasis would ask for help if required.

The Sanyasis, after moving His Divine Holiness into His quarters and making Him comfortable, requested a couple of devotees to prepare food. They put their mobile phone to charge, sorted out a few of their belongings, and rested a bit. They knew they had to leave as soon as possible. They wanted to be able to give a few hours of rest to His Divine Holiness as well as to themselves and the devices they were carrying.

At around 8.30 pm, news reached them that a center run by a devotee was attacked in Hosur. But the devotees in the Hosur Aadheenam were very sure that there would be no attack in the Hosur Aadheenam which was secluded and not familiar to the people as yet. It was decided that they would spend the night there. They spent the night in Hosur, with the Sanyasis taking turns to keep awake and alert.

The next day morning, the Sanyasis decided to move to a new location even though they were not attacked in Hosur. They felt it was not safe to remain in one location for more than 24 hours. They decided to move to Eambalam Aadheenam in Pondicherry, where by then, the police had sent out everyone from the Aadheenam telling them that it was not safe to be there.

They got ready, assembled their things and had food. Then, they requested His Divine Holiness to have something to eat before they went on to the road again.

4 March 2010, Eambalam Aadheenam, Pondicherry - 5th Life Attack on His Divine Holiness

Driving in from Hosur, the Sanyasis were hoping that the Eambalam aadheenam which was not yet open to the public, which was a very meagre place, would be secure for at least a short time. But this turned out to be untrue.

Not long after the fabricated video was circulated, on March 3rd, angry mobs came to the Eambalam Aadheenam and threw stones inside, used extremely abusive language. The police arrived and told the residents to close down the aadheenam and leave.

Mercenary Mob At the gates

The Sanyasis drove in with His Divine Holiness at around 6 pm and locked the gates behind them. They barely settled in the thatched roof structure which was there at that time. At around 8.30 pm, a furious group of assassins tried to enter through the main gate, banged on the locked gate to open.

Panic hits the Sanyasis

They quickly sprung into action, gathered their items, loaded the vehicle, seated His Divine Holiness in the back seat amidst two Sanyasis and started the car engine. Meanwhile, they instructed the resident Sanyasi to open the main gates.

No Exit is a safe exit

The Sanyasis waited for the main gates to opened, because if they exited through the side entrance before the attackers entered through the main gate, then the attackers would have seen the Sanyasis at the side entrance exit pathway that merged with the main entrance. So they waited, and once the main gates were opened and the attackers entered, the Sanyasis sped away through the side entrance. It was a risk they had to take to avoid being confronted by the attackers outside.

Attackers Chase the car

The attackers saw the car speeding away and tried to run back outside to stop them, but the car carrying His Divine Holiness had sped away. They became furious that they has so easily been duped. They could not tolerate that they had missed so narrowly. They showed their entire fury in setting fire to the thatched-roof structure which His Divine Holiness had just left.

Vengeance of the assassin mob - everything is set on Fire

Wreaked with vengeance, they tore the huge billboards carrying His portrait and burnt them. By defacing Him, they sent out the clear message that they were out to destroy Him wherever He might be.

The media frenzy was kept alive by telecasting the fabricated video nonstop for weeks. His Divine Holiness had to flee from South India to the North.

Why did they fabricate and air an obscene video?

They want to justify murder as an accident

In ancient times, ethnic minority sub sects were persecuted and exterminated using brutal violence. No justification was required.

As humanity civilized globally, and as democratic systems evolved, the need to justify acts of violence was required to keep the society pacified.

In World War I, assassination of a Prince was used to trigger a huge war. Post World War I, a simple trigger was no more sufficient; a complex propaganda machinery was required to justify to the society.

In World War II, race superiority was used as a justification for extermination of the Jewish Population.

In the following years, the whole methodology became highly sophisticated, allowing silent persecution of an entire population or an entire community or a leader to be carried out in such a way that literally there was no social, legal or humanitarian questioning or backlash.

What is a justification propaganda?

Justification propaganda is a targeted propaganda to drive a certain ideology into the society which makes them lose any potential sympathy or empathy for the targeted person. This would act as justification of any atrocity, persecution and attack executed on the person, disguising it as the backlash of the public or an angry mob. The engineered madness covers up silent assassinations, pogroms, ethnic cleansing, cultural genocides, and other inhumane and criminal acts.

Crimes against Humanity Justified

Example 2 : 2002 - Gujarat Riots by Hindu Extremists - 1,044 killed, 223 missing Justification given - Burning of a train in Godhra (which caused the deaths of 58 Hindu karsevak pilgrims) by an anonymous mob of 1000 people.

Example 3 : 1990 - Ethnic cleansing of minority Kashmiri Shaivites - 550 killed, 1,00,000 families flee the valley. Kashmiri Shavites are ancient religious ethnic minorities known to have lived in the valley for more than 10,000 years continuously. Justification given - a press release in a local newspaper saying, "Hindus and Sikhs cannot stay here."

Justification given - assassination of Prime Minister by her own Sikh bodyguard.

Example 5 : 1971 - Bangladesh Hindu Genocide - 3 million killed, 300,000 raped Justification given - Hindu minority Bengali community spoke a different language

Example 6 : 1930 - 1950 - Pogrom on Jews - 6 million jews died Justification given - Jews were considered an inferior race by the State.

How did they justify the madness to Kill His Divine Holiness

On 2nd March 2010, a fabricated obscene video linking Him to a South Indian actress that was aired, was the justification of the madness to KILL His Divine Holiness by an anonymous mob. As it was seen in days to come, a more complex, sophisticated and diabolical justification was continuously executed and still being executed to date, to justify a decade-long persecution of His Divine Holiness and His community.

His Divine Holiness at the 2010 Kumbh Mela

In 2007, His Divine Holiness was declared the Mahamandaleshwar, of the Mahanirvani Akhada, making Him the official spiritual head of over one million sanyasis (Hindu monks). In 2007, Kumbh Mela, He had led the Shahi Snan (spiritual royal bath) of 10 million people. At the time of His coronation He was the youngest Mahamandaleshwar.

What is Kumbh Mela

• Kumbh mela is a more than 10,000 year old unbroken Hindu tradition.
• The "world's largest congregation of religious pilgrims".
• Here all 1,00,000 sects of Hinduism, which are literally an independent religion in themselves, meet and discuss the overall direction of Hinduism.
• The largest peaceful gathering in the world.
• More than 100 Million (10 crore) people visited in the last Maha Kumbh in Prayag in 2013.
• Inscribed on the UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
• It is a massive Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred or holy river, a ritual called as the - Shahi Snan.

What are Akhadas

Akhadas are responsible for hosting the Kumbh Melas as well as participating in them. They are biggest and most ancient monastic order in the world, having survived all wars, crimes on humanity and all religious persecutions. Akhadas are ancient and have a shastra (recorded history) of more than 10,000 years. Around 700 A.D. Adi Shankara, a great sage, incarnation of MahaSadashiva (Cosmic Soul and primordial Hindu Divinity), organized the main currents of thought in Hinduism as Akhadas that we know today. As a Mahamandaleshwar, it is His spiritual responsibility to grace the Kumbh Mela

His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda is the Mahamandaleshwar of Mahanirvani Akhada (a more than 10,000 year old spiritual order) and it was His responsibility to be present at the Kumbh Mela as His highest priority. His Divine Holiness, being the top most spiritual guardian, was expected to convene the meeting. In spite of all the life attacks, it was impossible for Him to miss being present at the Kumbh Mela.

Disciples were extremely wary of the Media mafia

While His Divine Holiness was participating in the Kumbh Mela, the secretaries of His Divine Holiness received requests for an interview by many news channels. Already, Sun Network Media Mafia, had executed a planned character assassination of His Divine Holiness by releasing a fabricated obscene video, and attacked His life through a mercenary mob of assassins. The secretaries to His Divine Holiness were wary of any association with the media at the given juncture.

Country's Biggest Hindu Media Group, fabricates a BIG LIE

Bennett Coleman and Company Limited, commonly known as The Times Group, is India's largest media conglomerate. It was started in 1838. It's newspaper - The Times of India had the largest circulation of any English-language newspaper in the world, with 33,21,702 (Over 33 lac) average qualifying sales. The company is a family business of the Sahu Jain family. The Times Group has over 11,000 employees and revenue exceeding $1.5 billion (~ Rs. 10 thousand crores INR). Times Now is a 24-hour English news channel in India, owned and operated by The Times Group. Dhanya Rajendran, was a rookie reporter from Times Now.

Times Group is known to justify mob-lynching of ethnic minorities

In 1984 - A genocidal massacre was executed on minority Sikh community - 2,800 Sikhs were killed. As a justification of the ethnic cleansing, the Times Media Group, published articles such as, " De-Turbaning of Sikhs ". As an eyewash, the Chief editor was eventually fired, terming his views as "extremist." For their justification of violence on the Sikh community, extremist-Hindu media houses were criticized in the United States House of Representatives. (Congressional Record volume 142, issue 137, September 28, 1996).

Even 34 years later, no justice was given to the families of the victims. In January 2018, the Supreme Court of India decided to form a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of its own to probe 186 cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Times Group wanted an interview - they swore by journalism ethics

13 March 2010 : Secretaries of His Divine Holiness were apprehensive . However, The Times Media Group, promised that the live video would ensure that His Divine Holiness's words reached the public without any editing. They assured to follow the utmost journalistic ethics and present the interview as it is LIVE, without any editing or tampering. With their promises, the secretaries felt that the interview might end the saga of deadly, negative, fake media coverage going across the nation against His Divine Holiness. They were convinced that this would be the necessary platform for His Divine Holiness to directly reach out to the nation and establish the truth.

Dhanya cites technical fault, promises to air uncensored recording

When the interview started, Times Now reporter, Dhanya Rajendran, convinced His Divine Holiness that they had technical issues in telecasting and recorded the interview committing to telecast the interview as it is.

Justification Propaganda - Times Group fabricates a BIG LIE

The interview was the first public clarification of His Divine Holiness on the subject of the fabricated obscene video. The entire nation was waiting to hear. Clinching its huge captive audience, Times Now executed its true agenda, shocking the secretaries beyond words.

Times Group heavily edits interview, starting with SCREAMING LIES

Propaganda to declare Him less than human, unworthy of protection

"Times Now" promised to telecast the live interview with His Divine Holiness but the telecast was completely edited, twisted and fabricated into a FAKE confession. It was a maliciously engineered news item. The headlines screamed: "TIMES NOW MANAGED TO TRACK DOWN SWAMI NITHYANAND IN HARIDWAR." His facial dimensions were visually skewed and changed by the channel's video morphing techniques to make His face look cartoonish.

Times Now justifies attacks on Life of His Divine Holiness

He was maliciously portrayed as a 'criminal on the run'. It maintained silence about the violence done to His Divine Holiness. The expectation was that Times Now will reach the truth to the people. With the opening headline, the expectation collapsed.

Times Group justifies fabrication and airing of FAKE obscene videos

In the original footage, His Divine Holiness explained that the video was not real, it was completely fabricated, and said it needed to be analyzed (by a forensic agency) to understand how it was created. He even expressed His surprise why channels were broadcasting the fabricated obscene videos.

Times Now twisted the whole thing and displayed a foxy bold headline posing to be a quote: "YES IT'S ME IN VIDEO!" - a completely fabricated line that incited more mob hatred and more violence against His Divine Holiness.

Media's 'Justification Propaganda' Techniques

Times Now used several propaganda techniques in order to tactfully execute its heinous plan against His Divine Holiness:

Classical Conditioning

Falsely leveraging and aligning the known reactions (based on research in fields of evolution and psychology) of the news audience, to a target person, in a derogatory way.

Appeal to prejudice

People have a certain pre-existing bias towards various aspects. Presenting content which is leveraging that to appeal to the audience and thus convincing them on the false idea being presented by the channel.

Agenda setting

Irrespective of the actual fact, inserting the 'planned' agenda and presenting the agenda with the news being just an excuse to present the agenda.

Beautiful people

Leveraging the bias that people have, that they believe what is said by people with good appearance, and have bias for people with a distorted facial composure.

The non-'beautiful people' seem less than human and unworthy of protection

The footage of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda broadcasted live on television compared to the footage taken by one of the secretaries of Paramahamsa Nithyananda shows that there was deliberate manipulation in the video of His Divine Holiness's skin and proportions. The manipulation also started from the deliberate setting of the camera at an inappropriate angle on the face of His Divine Holiness. Further, in the footage from Times Now, the lighting you can see is centered around His Divine Holiness' head, done by video manipulation technology. The angle of the video shows his facial proportions more wide in the forehead and in the jaw. The combination of lighting corrections and changes to the proportion of His Divine Holiness' face makes His figure cartoonish. Tampering with the visuals of the footage is clearly done with very specific agenda.

Assassins storm the Camp

Amidst a mob of at least 100 that entered the Kumbh Mela camp of His Divine Holiness wielding weapons and demanding Him to leave, 3 assassins were implanted by the militant groups to exterminate Him. The mob ended up dismantling an empty camp in the Kumbh Ghat area. The destruction of the camp in the middle of the Kumbh Mela where there was no defense for His Divine Holiness, incited continuous fear psychosis. The havoc made by the mob created an immense amount of confusion in order to execute the silent assassination of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. However, even before the mob entered the camp, His Divine Holiness was taken away from the camp to a hotel in the heart of the city of Haridwar.

His Divine Holiness remained in the hotel to attend the remaining rituals of the Kumbh Mela. On 15 March 2010, in the afternoon, from the hotel window in Haridwar, one of His Divine Holiness' secretaries noticed a group of four people dressed in misleading laymen's clothes advancing in their direction. Two of them had video cameras slung over their shoulders, other two were seemingly empty-handed. Instant panic hit the Secretaries and they alerted His Divine Holiness of the situation.

They frantically began packing. Just as His Divine Holiness was being taken out by His bodyguards, the assassins barged into the hotel room. Parts of ensuing scenes went on air as sensational live footage for the masses to consume. One of them rushed towards His Divine Holiness, wielding a small knife in his hands. Before he could stab Him, one of the bodyguards jumped in the way and kicked the weapon out of his hands and pushed the assassin to the ground. While one secretary, quickly guided His Divine Holiness out of the room, the other two desperately threw themselves into a fight with the cameramen. His Divine Holiness was moved out of Haridwar to safety in Himachal Pradesh.

Gurumurthy and his paid media successfully created a hostile environment for His Divine Holiness which directly threatened His very life, liberty and security.

Mastermind Gurumurthy's Assassination attempt on His Divine Holiness

March 2010 : S Gurumurthy was in the meeting that was called for by him in the Indian Express Building in New Delhi, Manohar Shinde and Rajiv Malhotra were also in the meeting.

When His Divine Holiness was in Kumbh mela in Haridwar, Manohar Shinde had called His Divine Holiness' disciple who was with him, and told him that Gurumurthy wanted to meet him in Delhi in the Indian Express house which is a guest house belonging to the Indian Express group. Gurumurthy had arranged

accommodation for His Divine Holiness and 2 other disciples who were with Him.

His Divine Holiness and the disciples went and stayed there overnight. The next day, the disciple received instructions from Shinde how to reach the venue.

They entered the room. Before they could even sit down, without any introduction, Gurumurthy abruptly called His Divine Holiness aside and said, "I told you to keep this meeting confidential. Did you tell anyone else that you are coming here?"

His Divine Holiness said, "Since you told to keep it confidential, we came confidentially only. No one else knows we are coming here."

Shinde turned towards the disciple and asked him , "Did you tell anyone else you are coming here?"

The disciple also said, "As you advised, I have not told anyone that we are coming here. The taxi driver did not know we were coming here. We changed taxi at the guest house where you arranged for our stay. So no one knows we are here."

Suddenly Gurumurthy started screaming, "Do you understand the situation you are in? Your life as a spiritual guru is finished. Do you know who is working behind this attack? You don't have the capacity to handle this.

Shinde shouted, "It is time for you to simply leave and disappear. I have the capacity and plans to make the university, and run it. You are not useful or required anymore."

His Divine Holiness said, "Kaivalya ("Kaivalya" was the spiritual name Shinde used to go by), don't you know me? Don't you understand that I am being victimized? Don't you see it is an attack on a Hindu guru? I am an enlightened Master, and all Masters go through these kind of attacks."

Shinde said, "Don't talk all that bull-shit to me. Just listen, this is over. You better understand and cooperate with the guidance we have for you."

Rajiv Malhotra said, "Manohar ji, I don't appreciate this. Even if you don't believe Him as an Enlightened Master, He is your guru."

Shinde replied, " No He is not my guru. I considered Him as a guru earlier, but not anymore."

Rajiv Malhotra said, "Even if that is your stand, at least you should listen to Swamiji. Ask Him what questions we have and let Him get a chance to answer. Why are you attacking Him without even basic courtesy?"

Shinde said, "Rajiv, please do not interfere, you don't understand, I will explain to you later. Just listen now."

Rajiv Malhotra said, "You invited me to come to this meeting to help Swamiji. I hope that is still the agenda."

His Divine Holiness said, "Rajiv ji, I am not asking you all to do anything except what is right. I have not done any wrong and I expect my disciples to support me in this hour of crisis. And if anyone is not supporting, I am fine, I can understand. I will manage it with my disciples."

Gurumurthy said, "What you will manage? I have studied the situation in Bidadi. You are helpless now. Rajiv, I am insisting that Bidadi ashram should be handed over to Kishen Reddy and Ram Ramanathan. I have had detailed discussions with them in Bangalore. They are ready to take over and run the ashram. Ram Ramanathan told me that he has a few teachers in and around Bangalore and Mysore. All arrangements will be made. None of these ashramite fellows are required to run the ashram."

He said, "I called Rajiv only to make Swamiji come here, otherwise He would not come. I don't need Rajiv's inputs here."

Rajiv was saying something His Divine Holiness could not understand as Shinde and Gurumurthy kept abusively losing temper. They kept threatening His Divine Holiness and approaching Him.

His Divine Holiness' disciple told them, to please keep distance, and not to come near.

Then Gurumurthy said, "Swami, please come into this room, I want to talk to you alone. I really want to help you, trust me."

His Divine Holiness' disciple was objecting. But His Divine Holiness said , "Sure. You are unnecessarily getting excited, and you are misled. Let us talk. Even if you are angry with me, I know you love me, and I trust you. Let us talk."

As soon as they went inside, Gurumurthy pushed Him rudely to sit on the bed.

Gurumurthy pointed his finger at His Divine Holiness and said,

"I don't have much time to waste. Listen carefully. I have found out all the people who are around you and who are still committed to you. I have spoken to some of them and they agreed to work with my plan to manage the Bidadi campus. And the story is over now. You quietly go away for some 10 years, and then we will see how things shape up. I will help you with basic needs etc., for your support. But if you insist on staying back and fighting back, I will take away all your disciples, in LA (Los Angeles) and all over USA. I have already spoken to Popat. We will manage that property there only. I have spoken to Kishen. We will manage the Hyderabad property separately."

This is not a time for you to sacrifice me. This is the time for us to stay together and continue our projects to forward Hinduism."

Suddenly, Gurumurthy lost control and his body language became wild. Gurumurthy's hand hit something and it fell down.

Then Gurumurthy said, "I will kill you and no one will even know you are finished. I will kill anyone who comes in my way".

His Divine Holiness was quite fit normally, but He was not eating properly, and at the guest house, He could not have proper rest, so He was generally weak. He was unable to defend, or even call for help.

With the noise and commotion, His Divine Holiness' disciple opened the door and ran in to see if everything was okay. Gurumurthy did not see His Divine Holiness' disciple, and he was still pointing his figure at His Divine Holiness in a threatening way. His Divine Holiness was sitting on the bed, Gurumurthy's back was facing the door as the disciple stood and watched both of them. The disciple came in from behind Gurumurthy and pulled him away.

His Divine Holiness' disciple said, "Swamiji, let's get out of here."

As they were leaving, Gurumurthy said, "If anyone comes to know about this, neither you nor your ashramites will remain alive; quietly leave".

Without a word, His Divine Holiness' disciple and His Divine Holiness quickly got out of the room, left the guest house and drove to Haridwar immediately.

Dayananda Saraswati had warned, "Do not listen to Gurumurthy"

His Divine Holiness' disciple with tears in his eyes at what he had just witnessed as done to his guru, recalled the meeting that His Divine Holiness had had with renowned spiritual head Dayananda Saraswati a few days earlier. Dayananda Saraswati had called His Divine Holiness personally and warned not to take the advice of Gurumurthy who in a similar crisis situation for Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati, a Hindu leader, had exploited the situation and advised him to renounce his spiritual head position to be able to look "dignified" and get political support to come out of the crisis.

Dayananda Saraswati warned His Divine Holiness repeatedly not to do 'peetha tyaga' (step down from the spiritual head position of the Seat) of His self-made Mission at any cost.

With respect I differ from the legal advice. This force the Karnataka government which is dormant today to take active position. This will bring in the strict police view, and exclude the flexible political view. Mahesh

Jethmalani is stunned t his advice being ignored. It is a great risk. But .... now that it has been taken, one needs to see how it can match with retirement idea. In my view the idea of retirement is to appeal to the government to take a lenient view. The idea of litigation is to force the government to take a lenient view. If someone were to talk to the government, it will now say that the matters are in court and it can do nothing on its own. What is going to be your answer?

I saw a news item in TV that Nithyananda has moved the HC of Karnataka to quash all cases against him.

If it were true, I see a huge risk in this. It is a very wrong move, strategically and even legally. It is impossible some court would grant relief. Even if some favourable order is obtained by hook or crook, the SC will quash the order as the law is clear that the police cannot refuse to investigate an offence of which complaint has been made.

Strategically, this is an ill advised move as it invites the Karnataka government to take a stand against Nithyananda which they have to under the law to say that they have a right to investigate which no court can deny.

So a neutral Karnataka Government may be forced into taking a hostile stand as the government cannot take one stand in this case, namely that, complaint need not be investigated by police and other cases take the very opposite of that stand!

Surprised as to who could have advised so casually, I checked up with Mahesh Jethmalani, who told me that he has categorically ruled out moving the court. I think with this the possibility of the Karnataka government taking reasonable stand is almost lost.

I cannot think of a more ill-advised move. I have also not heard since morning about the statement of retirement. The quash petition and the retirement into seclusion do not match. Is anyone thinking comprehensively about all this? Or are decisions being taken on adhoc basis?

When asked, the bank authorities said that upon receiving a letter from the Criminal Investigation Department, they had frozen the accounts. However, they did not cite any court document. To save money, the residents of the aadheenam began rationing food out.

Monks decided to meet their own needs, they starting farming and rain water harvesting

The residents decided to grow their own agricultural farm to be able to sustain themselves. They started 'rain water harvesting' to meet their needs.

A Puducherry Lawyer files a notorious false complaint

On 5 Mar 2010, a case was filed in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, South India (Ref.:Cr. No. 90/2010) by a lawyer, alleging hurting religious sentiments of the people and cheating by His Divine Holiness, as a consequence of the release of the fabricated video by the persecutors. It third party person who files this complaint, did not claim that his sentiments were hurt, he claimed (without naming anybody) devotees' sentiments were hurt. If at all, such a case should have been filed by devotees against the mafia which created and released the fabricated obscene video. But instead, His Divine Holiness was being persecuted through this lawsuit. The Counsel to His Divine Holiness were dealing with such absurd baseless complaints continuously from the year 2010.
