Look In...

You have so many different kinds of goals which seem to never happen.

Even if the goal happens it somehow seems to lead to depression of success. Enlightenment may also be one of your goals.

But enlightenment is only the ultimate, not the final! Even after enlightenment, there is so much space for growth. Let enlightenment come on its own. Don't sit around waiting for it. Live in the present to explore life in 360 degrees. Drop all your goals and you will grow with an explosion.

You think that enlightened Masters are all separate energies and are each giving their own messages to the world. But what you don't understand is that they are all the same energy, the same light bouncing from the cosmos off their bodies.

We are living every day, every minute in separation. I am separate from you; you are separate from me, and so on. See the whole world as a whole.

Let there be a deep, strong connection between you and everything else. Through this an exuberant love, directed at no one or no thing, a love completely undirected will take over your whole being.

3 Separated Wholeness

Comets do not give off their own light. What you see is sunlight bouncing off the ice in the comet.

4 Make An Ordinary Wife Extraordinary

Hidden inside Saturn's rings are tiny Moons called 'Shepard Moons'. The gravity of these small Moons keeps the rings organized into separate bands.

Your desires, your worries are simply small specks marring your consciousness. They form a ring around your being preventing you from good health, good relationships and everything good.

Look In...

A man once came to me asking to have Darshan, a vision of the 18-handed Goddess Kaali. I told him to first live happily with his 2-handed wife!

We go on desiring for everything in the world which we don't have. These desires mar our true shiny nature.

If we experience contentment with all that there is, even an ordinary wife will look extraordinary - like a goddess.

One year for us could simply feel like a split second for enlightened people. They have very few thoughts and therefore, time flies for them. ,

5 Stop Flying! Go Jump!

A year on Neptune is 164.8 Earth years. So if you lived there, it would take you nearly 1,500 years to reach your ninth Birthday!

Look In...

When we are with a boring person, even a minute will seem like hours. Whereas, when we are talking with a fun person, laughing and enjoying ourselves and living in the present moment, time will seem to fly.

Don't keep thinking of what happened yesterday and what is going to happen tomorrow.

Live in the moment and every situation will seem like the 'time of your life'!

6 SWIMMING IN MADNESS When things get big, gravity becomes very powerful. A black hole is gravity gone mad!

Enlightenment is the ultimate madness, yet the most powerful.

All of life's battle is simply to create power, to create wealth, to create fame, never to discover our true, mad selves, our most powerful self. There is a fear within us in letting go.

I say to you: let go and forever swim in this madness. Things will simply happen around you.

The Flame Of Enlightement 7

Electric charges can build up on your body when you walk across a carpet. When you touch a doorknob, the charges can jump from your hand to the metal knob.

A Master grows on you. Just be open and his electric charge will simply move on to you.

The Master Is A Flame.

He is right in front of you, waiting to pass on the flame of bliss, of enlightenment. It is you who says, "Only He can reach that state; He is great, but I don't think these things are for me." Be open and allow the Master's flame to touch and transform you.

Paramahamsas (Enlightened Masters) are known as swans.

A small story:

There was once a beautiful swan flying over a pond. All the fish in the pond thought that this was a new fish that had come to play with them. When the swan flew to the right, the closest fish to his reflection thought, "He's so beautiful, so loving, and so compassionate and I am so close to him!" When the swan flew to the left, another fish, seeing his reflection would think, "He must love him more than me." When the swan flew towards Los Angeles, all the fish there thought, "Let's build an ashram for him." Some other fish decided to write books and make web sites on him. Some fish fought over the swan and some fish marveled at him. But there were a few intelligent fish that saw the swan's reflection and said, "No, this cannot be real." They looked up at the sky and saw the reality of the swan and realized the truth - that they too can fly! But through the chaos of the whole thing, the swan flew on blissfully, never hearing the fish quarrel.

What is the need for bickering amongst yourselves?

What is the use of thinking you are very special?

The Master is not what you see. The Master is like the moon giving you light, the sun warming you up in the cold. He is giving his love to everyone simultaneously. Look at him with this understanding and all the arguments which you have had with the others in the past will seem like utter foolishness.

8 ARGUMENTAL FOOLISHNESS Because there is no atmosphere on the Moon, sound waves cannot travel. So however loud you shout, no one would be able to hear you!

9sleeping Into Relaxation

Obesity is one of the major causes of cardiovascular difficulty in the modern day.

Middle age is the time when the broadness of the mind and the narrowness of the waist interchange places!

Look In...

I have seen many elderly people who don't know how to relax.

Their children would have been married, their grandchildren would have been married, and sometimes their great-grandchildren would also have been married. But the fellow will be sitting and reading the matrimonial column of the newspaper! Just relax and stop worrying! A time will come when there will be such a deep relaxation in you that you will sleep into the space of the divine.

A landslide is the sudden movement of soil and weathered rock material down the slope sliding under the force of gravity.

Let go of your mind, let go of your ego and slide into the space of your being.

We are taught to live in ego and follow our mind.

Meditation makes this impossible! Meditation acts directly upon the being.

Let go of the rope of your conditioning and slide into your very being.

When small earthquakes happen, the temperature of I have dipped my finger in honey and nicely licked it; licked practically every bit. Then I have wiped my finger on my kerchief. It is this finger which I have put into your mouth. For this you are saying, "It is so sweet, so beautiful!" This is the 'high' which you fellows are making such a fuss about!

hot springs may increase. When you have an overwhelming spiritual experience, you often stop there thinking that you cannot go any deeper.

Don'T Stop!

There is a whole other realm which you are yet to experience. Move deeper and deeper until you finally reach the state where you understand that wherever you were moving deeper to was right here all the time!

12the Art Of Remembering Much Of The Earth'S

Only you think that you are complete, that there is no need for meditation in you. But what you don't know is that your being is capable of much, much more.

surface is unstable ground, which means that the land is capable of moving around.

Look In...

You are the ultimate embodiment of love, of compassion, of bliss. You have only forgotten how to express it.

Meditation is the process of remembering, of going back to your roots.

Spend half an hour of meditation a day.

Doing this will give you the power of expression.

13take It! Take It! Have It!

Many volcanoes begin with relatively quiet lava flows and then erupt explosively.

Never think that you are not growing because of a few or no spiritual experience.

A small story: Two people are traveling in a train. One is awake and looking at the beautiful scenery through the window. The other has his window closed and sleeping. Whichever way, whether the window is open or not, whether the person is looking out of the window or not, it doesn't matter because they are both reaching the same destination eventually.

So simply wait for the time when your being erupts and flows into divine consciousness. Until then, don't pass judgment on yourself.

Look In...

Spiritual experiences are only a part of the whole thing. Everybody is different with different karmas, different attitudes and above all, a different path.

One might be seeing me as Devi, the divine Mother, and another might simply be seeing me as the 6 feet tall man that I am! Either way you are seeing the same thing; so why do you bother? Don't bother! Simply be happy no matter what happens to you.

Don't miss the ultimate experience. Take it!

Allow the divine energy to flow through your veins, to boil your blood with bliss. Allow it to rise to a 'high' and be expressed as THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAWAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM - eternal bliss.

14wandering In Receptiveness

Malarial parasites invade red blood corpuscles, where they multiply until the cell can no longer withstand the pressure and bursts, releasing the offspring to seek out other corpuscles, where the same thing takes place again.

Look In...

You say you want enlightenment; you want to reach the highest peak.

I am here holding out my arms to you! All you have to do is receive. Take it! Who's stopping you?! It is 'you' who is holding back.

The next time you come near me, have a deep receptive mood. Let receptiveness fill your being. Like a child takes chocolate out of the hands of a mother, pick the ultimate experience from my hands.

When I speak, listen to my every word. Do not let your mind wander. Let 'you' wander on your mind!

Air is an invisible mixture of gases comprising the Earth's atmosphere. The mixture contains a group of gases of nearly constant concentrations and a group with concentrations that are variable in both space and time.

You and the Ultimate are one and the same. You and God are the same thing. Take these words and remember who you are. You must be wondering, 'How do I remember?' Simply contemplate upon it. Let the 'who am I' question fill your mind. Naturally, if this is the only thing on your mind, it will happen. It has to happen. With this contemplation, you will become THAT and THAT will become you.

Very small fragments of solid materials or liquid droplets suspended in air are called particulate. This serves as one of the major pollutants of our environment and can be disastrous to health.

Throughout your life, society has taught you to fight. If someone says something to you, you have to fight. Anything that hurts your ego, you are taught to fight.

The truth is that you are hurting yourself more than you are hurting the other when you fight. So, from now on, even if someone says something wrong, remain calm. Feel your mind, its reaction to it, feel your body and relax; feel the outer and inner happenings.

Simply go with the flow.

We are born a flowing river. But through the years, We become frozen; we stop flowing and become like a block of ice. The process of melting this block of ice back into a river is meditation.

Why do you continue to remain hard? Why is your mind, your body so cold? Why is it like a block of ice?

Try This:

Sit down in a relaxed posture and feel yourself melting. Feel all of your conditioning, all of your ego melting away. See that all the stress, all of the pressure which you face in your everyday life melting away. Just visualize the whole thing. Visualize yourself melting away.

Finally, when this feeling rises to its peak, the ice has melted. You have once again become a flowing river.

Melting Away

The freezing point of a liquid is the temperature at which a liquid becomes a solid. As with the melting point, increased pressure usually raises the freezing point.

Eternally, Blisfully Divine

The surface temperature of the Sun is about 5,800 kelvins (K) and the temperature of the sun's core is at least 15,000,000 K.

Look In...

On a hot summer day,

the sun heats up the ground. We are the ground and the Master is the Sun.

Allow him to heat you up, and through this, you will reach the state of eternal bliss.

You are resisting the divine every minute of your life. Whether you accept it or not, it is the truth.

So, I say to you: feel yourself as divine.

Feel everything as divine. Whether it is living or non-living, it is divine. Let this become a deep understanding, a deep truth engraved in your being. If you can do this, the state of Eternal Bliss - THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAWAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM is the only outcome!

Every enlightened Master is the same energy form. When he is gone, never think that he is gone. In reality, enlightened Masters never leave this Earth; they are always with us.

Don'T Miss!

In nature, water keeps changing into water vapor which comes back to the Earth in the form of rain.

Look In...

In Jesus' time, all the people would say, "Oh, we missed Buddha."

In Ramakrishna's time, all the people would say, "Oh, we missed Jesus."

In Vivekananda's time, all the people would say, "Oh, we missed Ramakrishna."

In Ramana Maharishi's time, all the people would say, "Oh, we missed Vivekananda."

Now… the same fellows are sitting here and saying, "Oh, we missed Ramana!"

This is foolishness! All enlightened Masters are the same. Understand this.

Do not miss another Master!

The energy of the Master is always with you. It is like your spiritual heart. His energy is pumped from your soul and circulates throughout your body.

EXPRESSING THE DIVINE During a research experiment, Nelya's (the subject) pulse rate soared up to 240 beats a minute, four times its normal level, and high percentages of blood were recorded together with other endocrinal disturbances all characteristic of a stress reaction. This lasted for thirty minutes of which the patient lost over two pounds in weight.

Your blood and veins are divine. Your heart and core is divine energy. The divine is forever circulating within you.

Sit down in a relaxed position with closed eyes. Visualize and feel your blood circulating throughout your body. The only thing is, instead of feeling it as blood, feel it as divine energy. Feel this energy being pumped from the middle of your stomach. Have it fill your heart and being.

By practicing this, you will realize that you too are the ultimate expression of ecstasy.

A Lovely Emotion!

There is no fire like lust, no crime like hate. There is no ill like the body, no bliss higher than peace.

All your relationships are continuously moving back and forth between lust and hate. This is because the center of this back and forth is the mind and the body. Add a little bliss to this movement and you will reach a higher state - a state of eternal bliss - THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM BHAGAWAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

Look In...

Our relationships are completely hay-wired! There is never an emotion that lasts. One minute you are completely in love with a person, and the next minute, you hate him. For this, there is a small technique. Look at your child; look at your spouse, whatever the relationship may be, look at the other person as the ultimate embodiment of love.

If you can do this, any emotion that comes up will be an emotion of love; because if the other person is nothing but love, anything that he does will seem like an outcome of love.

If you can do this, love will endlessly pour out of your being.

From attachment springs grief; from attachment springs fear; for him who is wholly free from attachment, there is no grief, much less fear.

Just look at your everyday life.

and experience eternal freedom.

It is under the sway of various types of attachments; attachments to your possessions, to people, etc. Attachments are different, connectivity is different.

Throughout our lives, we have gone through different types of attachments with people. They have brought nothing more than the suppression of grief and fear. Through these two

emotions comes possession. Move beyond all your attachments

So, I Say To You:

drop all attachments and replace them with connectivity.

You all simply sit in front of me nodding your head, but when I ask you to repeat what I have said, the answer that I get is nonsense! Sit in front of me with awareness. Grasp my words and transform your life.

LISTEN! Even though a fool associates with a wise man all his life, he does not any more perceive the truth than a spoon perceives the flavor of soup. Though even an intelligent man associates with a wise man, he perceives the truth just as the tongue perceives the flavor of soup.

Look In...

Why does life appear to be so boring at times? The answer is right here: You are not living in awareness. You have never actually seen a sunset. And even if you have seen one, you have not really SEEN it!

You are continuously associating everything that you see with something else similar and spoiling the whole beauty of it for that moment.

If you can stop associating and start living, you can taste the reality of bliss.

It is only your social conditioning that says, "He is elder to me, so respect must be given." You feel: they have lived longer and have more experience in the ways of the world and they should be respected. But I am talking of true respect; it is respect that comes from the heart. It is that which has not been emphasized by society. This is the respect given to a true elder.

All our lives, we show fake respect to people. We wear a smile on our face, when inside we may be burning with anger.

I tell you now: really respect a person. When you meet the other's eyes, don't just wear a smile, look into his eyes. In Zen monasteries, the Master will say to start smiling from the toe.

Here I am telling you to smile from your whole body. Feel each and

This is the meaning of true respect. This is the meaning of a real smile.

Every one of the cells in your body bubble with bliss. Have a deep feeling that your whole body is smiling.

Bubble Up With Bliss!

He is not thereby an elder merely because his head is grey. He who is ripe only in years is called 'one grown old in vein'.

The word habit is a beautiful word. If you drop the 'h', you still have 'a bit'. If you drop the 'a', you still have 'bit'. If you drop the 'b', you still have 'it'. It is only when you drop the 'i' that it dies!

HABITUATED TO HABITS Habitat is a place where an organism or a community of organisms lives, including all living and nonliving factors or conditions of the surrounding environment.

Look In...

You are simply habituated to habitats and habits!

You are so accustomed to doing certain things that if your activity changes, you feel uneasy.

I Tell You Now:

Drop the strong 'i', just do something a bit wild! Drop your nonsensical habits! If you are habituated to eating with your right hand, eat with your left. What's wrong in that? Simply live like this!

It is only when you do this that you will understand the beauty of the freedom of life.

There are so many ways to achieve the same answer. 3x3 may be 9, but 9 can be achieved through so many other expressions.

In the same way, by seeing a person's words, emotions, expressions and so on, don't think that you know about him or analyzed him, because the same expression may have addition of emotions, subtraction of emotions and division of emotions.

You may be an intellectual and the other may be an emotional person, or a person living in the being level…

So, you cannot judge a person by the first meeting, nor by the last meeting.

Look In...

Why is there this separation?

Every time you look at someone, do you see him as yourself? Most likely, you don't.

So the next time you look at someone, see that person as you. Connect with him as you would with your hand. Talk to him as you would connect to your mind.

By doing this, judgment will never arise and you and the world will become one.

Wrong Confidence 9 = 3 X 3

= 11 - 2 = 6 + 3 = 27 / 3

Rising Up And Staying There

In a dictionary, things are placed in alphabetical order.

Only in the dictionary, bliss and happiness come before meditation. But in life and practicality, they come after meditation.

Look In...

You wonder how you can be in happiness and bliss permanently.

In life, even when happiness happens, it never seems to last. We always rise up and come back down. Meditation is the only way. If I tell you to meditate, you will say, "There is no time for all of that." Nonsense! God has given you your whole life. Can't you give Him a mere fraction of your day? Leave your life; God has given you 24 hours and you say there is no room to give Him a half hour?

Spend at least half an hour on meditation in a day. Set aside a special time where you can relax your mind. Doing this will lead you to a permanent state of happiness.

Where does your logic stand? Where are all of your great mathematical formulae standing? Ask your logical people to answer this question.

Rounds & Straight Lines

1 ball + 1 ball = 2 balls 1 mate + 1 mate = 3 people 1 color + 1 color = 1 other color 1 bomb + 1 bomb = 0 bombs

Look In...

In your ordinary life, with your ordinary mind, you cannot have 'good' relationships.

Enough! Go beyond logic. See beyond logic. You, the world, and life are all beyond logic. If you can do this, you will go beyond the word 'relationship' itself.

The Timeless Zone

Research shows that for a snail to cross 1 kilometer, it takes three days.

Over the years, you have become so time bound, so dependent on time. It has gone to such an extreme that you cannot be even five minutes without looking at your watch. Slip out of this time awareness and fall into the state of timeless, boundless energy.

Look In...

I will give you one small instruction to try out.

For 3 days, only three days, stop wearing your watch. Stop looking at the time. This includes asking the next person for the time! At the end of the three days, you will understand how you have been living your whole life in a time bound zone. Time will really seem to be meaningless. You may not even feel like wearing your watch again. If this is the case, you are entering the timeless zone.

Most of the things which you do everyday are done unconsciously.

A small story :

A drunkard was walking across a bridge one night when he came across a close friend. The two of them leaned over the bridge and began to talk.

"What's that down there?" inquired the drunkard. "That's the moon," replied his friend. The drunkard looked again, shook his head in irritation and said, "Okay, okay. But how did I get all the way up here?"

This is the way which you are living your life - in unawareness. You are missing the cream of life by this.

Life is not there to simply fly past you. It is there for you to see and experience.

'How to be aware?' you ask. I will tell you.

Try this: on a starry night, lie down on the ground and look up at the sky. Look at it with unperturbed awareness. Let you look at the stars with such clarity and freshness that you feel that there is nothing but you and the stars.

Begin to do this with everything around you, all the time, all day.

Awareness will be the automatic outcome.

The cerebellum is a part in the brain which stores memory of movement patterns. Most of these movement patterns are done unconsciously.

Division And Combination

The brain is divided into two halves, called hemispheres. The mind is constantly dividing. But in reality, there is no duality, no pure, and impure; no morality, and immorality. Everything IS.

Look In...

Separation is nothing but our attitude imposed on reality.

I tell you honestly, there is no pure or impure.

They are all our own projections. We go on dividing. Someone is this, someone is that. He is bad, and she is good. If this is there, there will always be a division. Now, move without divisions; stop saying that he is this and she is that.

Stop dividing and start encompassing!

True Intelligence Observational

learning depends on the existence of an appropriate model in one's environment.

A Small Story:

An old Chinaman was eating too much rice. He was too old to work. He had become a burden. The father of the home - the old Chinaman's son was determined to get rid of him. He put him in a wheelbarrow, and then started up the mountain. The little eight year old grandson went along. He was full of questions. His father explained that the grandfather was old and useless, and the only thing they could do was to take him up the mountain and leave him to die. After hearing his father say this, the boy replied, "I'm glad you brought me along, father, because when you're old, I'll know where to take you."

Look In...

You always think that you are very intelligent. Children are much more intelligent.

When you have an argument with someone, you think the other is wrong and you are right. Be very clear, the other person is thinking the same thing!

Make a small change in yourself. Start seeing the other as intelligent. Start looking from his point of view.

If you do this, you have reached the true state of intelligence!

One of my devotees has a son who is studying abroad. His parents had not been calling for some time. This boy wrote a letter to his parents saying, "Dear Mom and Dad, I haven't heard from you in nearly a month. Please send a check so I'll know you're alright."

The parents got the shock of their lives! Now they talk to him everyday!

Laughing Clearly, Clearly Laughing

In grammar, an indirect object is the person or thing indirectly affected by the action of the verb.

Out of fear, you do so many things which you would not have done if you were not in a strange situation. This is all an outcome of not living life to the ultimate.

Start living, stop worrying.

Stop suppressing, start laughing.

See the clarity which will enter your life once you drop fear and live totally.

Stop Thinking Start Blissing!

Psychology is the study of understanding the nature and functioning of processes which makes us who we are. It deciphers the complexities of human behavior. Do you know who you are? Do you know why you're here? Do you understand your purpose in life? These are the questions which usually arise some time around middle age. The answer is just seconds away from you : Look now. Look within and your questions will be solved!

Look In...

Here is a very simple, but very powerful technique:

Look into a deep well. The well will reflect you. Forget thinking. Stop the thought process. Just go on looking into the well's depths. The depth will become an outer symbol of the inner depth. You will have to be patient, dedicated. There will be a point where suddenly a strange feeling arises in you.

You will be filled with bliss.

You will come to know your true self.

The mind has no end. There is always a thought that arises. It is an eternal chain of words. Through this, boredom arises. So I say to you, stop thinking and start living!

As of now, your mind is clutched.

And then you will be un-clutched!

You are knowingly or unknowingly connecting each and every thought with the other, multiplying them multi-fold. From this, boredom springs out.

Here's an example :

When you see a dog on the street, you unconsciously start thinking of the dog which you have seen in your childhood. Then you think of the house which you had; followed by the school which you went to. You then think of the teacher who taught you.

The dog on the street and your childhood teacher have no logical connection. They both may have barked at you! But that is different!

For an hour everyday, I want you to stop connecting. A thought may come, but don't immediately connect it to the next thought. Have every thought as a separate entity. Gradually, day by day, the thought process and the number of thoughts will decrease. You will finally be thoughtless!

36god Resides In Gaps

thegapbetweenwordsinasent ence-Makesiteasytoreadandunders tand. Are you able to understand? The above sentence is, 'the gap between words in a sentence makes it easy to read and understand'. Now you are able to read because of the gap.

Without gaps, you cannot read, nor can you understand. You are alive because of the gaps of silences between your thoughts. Silence is the only thing existing in the whole of Existence.

The gap between sounds is also silence. Without silence, no music will be there.

So, gaps are invaluable.

Look In...

Be aware of the gaps between your thoughts. Be aware of the gap between sounds. Be aware of the gap between your emotions. Be aware of the gaps between your breaths. Be aware of the gaps which surround you.

Be aware. That's enough.

37do You Remember Now?

Physiological reactions and changes that are associated with emotions have their roots in our body chemistry. We have always been spiritual. We are spiritual. And we will continue to remain spiritual. Our roots will continue to remain with us whether we want it or not. We are divine.

Look In...

Why have you forgotten who you are? Wake up! Remember!

The only means of remembering is through meditation. Spend an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening (around 7'o clock) contemplating on who you are.

If you contemplate deeply, it will hit you. You will suddenly realize that there was no need of contemplation in the first place because you are already who you are.

You people have become so accustomed, so adapted to the luxuries of life. These adaptations are hindrances in spiritual life. Drop these habits and flow with the river of life.

38 Overcoming Foolish Contitioning

A climatic adaptation in physical anthropology is the genetic adaptation of human beings to different environmental conditions. Anthropologists say that your genes are getting adapted physically to the climatic changes around you. So, your environment shakes your base.

Look In...

I am sometimes shocked by the types of luxuries you people have. I honestly feel sorry for you.

During one of the mediation camps at the ashram, I decided to have a session under the Banyan Tree. The volunteers of the program, despite my instruction not to, laid out mats for people to sit. I asked, "What mats? This is Earth. Why not sit on it?" Anyhow, there was a shortage of mats. Because of this, one foolish lady was standing up. I just looked at her and said, "Aiy! Sit down." She replied, "My dress will get dirty."

Fools!

At least you guys don't make the same mistake.

Get over these petty conditioning.

This is the only way to fully enjoy the ashram. Let alone the ashram; it is the only way to fully enjoy life.

39 Stop Sleeping, Start Receiving

A fish lives in water. It doesn't breathe through it's nose as you think. It breathes through its gills which absorbs the oxygen dissolved in water.

Look In...

There is a very small practice that you can do to understand this.

For at least 15 minutes a day, walk around outside or even in your house and see nothing as an object. See everything as living energy. When you look at a computer, see it as energy. When you look at a passerby, see him as energy. Nothing should remain before your eyes, behind your eyes or to the side of your eyes as an object.

In olden times, meditation and spirituality was a way of life. In Bharat, the Gurukul system of education was practically the only available way of learning. It is only now that man has lost his meditative state. In the process, he feels he has become modern.

The truth is, our ancestors were more inclined to nature because they had to do everything by themselves. They did not have computers and such equipment. They had their two hands and two feet. They understood the world around them. In fact, there was really no need of meditation for them because they respected everything as God.

But for us, in our robotic world, meditation is needed. It is needed now more than ever before.

You unconsciously throw food down your system. While eating, you are not really eating! Your mind is somewhere and you will be chatting with someone, but you are not wholly eating.

You are throwing more food down your system than needed due to your unconsciousness.

So while eating, feel every morsel of food touching your tongue. Feel every movement of your mouth as you chew. Feel every bit going down your throat and into your stomach. This is 'eating wholly'.

If you can eat like this, naturally the food intake will come down because you are eating only how much you need.

Do not listen! The minute the thought rises that you are sick and having some pain, simply tell it to keep quiet!

There is a famous saying in English: sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me. I will change this a bit. Sticks and stones will break your bones, and words may hurt you. It will hurt the 'you', but it will never hurt the 'me'. The 'me' is your being. The 'me' is the true 'you'. The next time someone insults you, the next time someone abuses you, do not react. Simply remain the same. Just close your eyes and listen to what the person is saying. Do not be affected. Simply remain with your self. If you can do this, you will understand the silliness of it all. You will understand the silliness in arguing. You will understand the silliness of life. So I say to you, start ignoring the insults.

It's simple! This is all you need to do. And to be honest, you are not seeing yourself as anything new.

You continuously want to know who you are.

I tell you now: you are neither near nor far. How to understand that this is what you want to know.

Simply expand and grow spiritually. Meditation is the only key.

It is the only way to break the idea of you and me as separate entities.

The mind and body can be called as parallel universes. Anything that happens in the mental universe must leave tracks in the physical one. Your mind literally controls your body. If that fool, your mind, says 'sit', your body sits. If he says 'walk', your body walks. Your body is the slave to the mind.

Let's turn this around. Do not listen to the mind.

When your mind says 'sit', just remain as you are. Look inside you and see whether your body needs the rest or if your mind is tricking you. If your body really needs to sit down, it will automatically happen. There will be no need to think about it.

If you can do this, your body will finally be free.

In a subtle way, no matter how much that you want to reach the ultimate, you are scared. You are scared of realization. Why else are you not meditating? If you really wanted to, you would have meditated. But you are scared of the unknown.

This attitude may seem nonsensical. And it is, but you are doing it all the time. You are like an anorexic.

No, no! You are an enlightexic!

I want you to drop this attitude. Let you meditate with no doubt - with no fear.

It is only when you do this that enlightenment will be flowing out of you all the time.

You have been taught by society to suppress. It has practically become a part of you. Your true nature is to express; it has to happen without any boundaries.

For one day, just one day, live in freedom. Anything that you want to do, do. Just do as you like. If you would like to be nude, do so - by yourself. Who invented clothes anyway? I want to meet that fellow. Foolishness!

If you want to eat, eat how much ever you want. It is up to you.

If you want to run around screaming - do it. Drop all the idiotic social conditionings.

Do this for just one day to start with.

You will see the miraculous freedom you will experience.

Running In Freedom

Obese people have been known to gain weight on diets where no extra calories are offered beyond the bare minimum to sustain basal metabolism.

Mental Exercise

Your body was designed for physical activity. The impulse to exercise is a natural human tendency. The mind is a vague instrument. It would be fun to give it some mental exercise!

Look In...

Try this:

If your mind says anything from here on, simply question it.

For example; "I am hungry. I will go to the kitchen." You simply ask, "Why, what is the need?"

Just like this, for everything ask, "Why?"

Your mind will simply surrender to you.

You will finally be in control.

The Silence Of The Rustling Leaves

The Second World War was a conflict that involved virtually every part of the world during the years 1939 - 1945. I tell you honestly, there is really no such thing as peace. The very word peace is simply the gap between two wars. It is the preparation for the next war. It is like a resting period. But there is really no such thing as peace existing on planet Earth.

Look In...

There is no such thing as political peace.

There is spiritual peace, but there has never been political peace.

Spiritual peace is one of deep relaxation.

It is of deep silence.

How can we achieve it? I will tell you.

There is a small meditation technique for this.

Sit alone under a big tree. In the ashram, we have the Banyan Tree.

Sit under any big tree. Listen to the rustling of the leaves. Feel the leaves rustling in your ears. The sound should feel like a part of you.

Through this rustling, feel the silence within it.

This is the true meaning of peace.

This is what I call 'the silence of the rustling leaves'.

Overflowing Ananda

A depressed person is depressed everywhere; he has a sad brain, sad skin, sad liver, and so on.

An enlightened person is the exact opposite of this. He is blissful everywhere. He has a blissful heart, a blissful smile, and a blissful being, all the time.

This is Ananda.

Here is a very simple but beautiful meditation technique. It is for feeling blissful everywhere, within and without.

Close your eyes and sit in a relaxed posture, either on the floor or in a chair, or even lying down; it doesn't matter. Simply close your eyes and smile from within. Feel your whole body smiling. It doesn't necessarily need to show on your face. It has to radiate from within.

Feel your hands smiling - your stomach - your heart everything. It should be an outpouring of joy.

You should literally feel bliss overflowing from your being.

thousandth of a millimeter in its precise structure, because the genomes - the bits of information in DNA - remember where everything goes. This fact leads us to realize that memory must be more powerful than matter.

Take all the Masters as the same.

The Masters are all saying the same thing. They come with the same message. Their expression of enlightenment is the only thing that is different; but they are all saying the same thing.

It is the so-called disciples who cause conflict amongst the Masters' words.

All I am saying is not to make the same mistake this time as well.

90swallowing Bliss

A healthy diet includes three servings of fruit a day. If this is not possible, fresh juices would be ideal.

Look In...

This is a very simple technique.

When you are eating or drinking, simply swallow bliss.

Visualize that you are swallowing nothing but bliss. While drinking, you are drinking bliss. While eating, you are eating bliss.

This is the meaning of really enjoying a meal.

are the slowest, running between 1 and 3 cycles a second, and are the most prominent in deep sleep. I simply become confused looking at people sleeping until lunch time! What is the need? Nonsense!

Why do you people get tired? What is the need of sleep in the first place?

The whole idea of sleep is nonsense!

Your sleep will immediately vanish.

Absorb the energy that is continuously around you. Just become a little receptive. The moment your mind says, "Time to sleep, I am tired," you just say, "Keep quiet." And I tell you honestly: it works. The tiredness simply vanishes.

The minute the mind says that it is tired, just close your eyes and become receptive to the energy around you. Tell your

The body as it is, is a great mechanical device. You have millions and millions of cells which are alive. But you don't use it to your full capacity.

Here is a very small but beautiful meditation technique: Close your eyes and sit in whatever way you are comfortable. Begin to feel every part of your body alive. Just feel it as fully alive.

Start from your toes. Then move to your foot, then to your ankle. Like this, gradually move upwards all the way to the top of your head. Feel yourself; feel your body as nothing but alive.

Now that your body is fully alive outwards, move inwards.

Now begin to feel every cell as alive.

Do this the same way as you did on the outside; from your toes to the top of your head. Feel every cell alive. Literally feel it bubble with life. Let you be fully alive to the maximum. Let this feeling rise to a high. Once it has reached its peak, the feeling will gradually begin to decrease.

Once it has come down, you will be embraced with a blanket of tranquility.

With this you will be able to live every moment in peace.

You will be able to live every moment alive.

Peace will only remain.

Be in this state for some time.

92 JOURNEY FROM TOES TO HEAD

Scientists say that if we had to create a factory equal to the capacity of the human body, it would require four square miles of land, and the noise would be such that one hundred square miles of land would be disturbed by it.

After ten minutes of this relaxation, slowly, very slowly open your eyes.

The mind, as of now is like a mad monkey stung by a 1000 scorpions!

Will your mind allow you to just simply sit? No!

If your answer is 'yes', then I you have become enlightened! That's all!

Here is what I want you to do: Just sit.

Do nothing but simply sit in silence. Your mind may become restless.

Allow it to do so. What is there?

Only one thing; 'you' do not become affected by it.

Allow your mind to indulge in whatever play it wants to; you remain unperturbed. Just be in silence, that's all. Simply sit. It may take time for your mind to settle down into this silence, but that's perfectly alright.

And when it does happen, you will know the meaning of freedom.

Allow it the time that it takes.

Simply sit.

Do not shut out your thoughts.

Allow them to come.

But do not follow them.

Not only your inner chatter, but the outer chatter also.

Let whatever is happening outside happen.

Simply be a witness.

It may take time, but it will happen to you.

You will be free to be in the silence of you.

93 He Will Not Allow You To Sit

In Japan, they have a meditation called Zazen. The word 'Zazen' means just sitting in silence: doing nothing.

94 The Freshness Will Never Leave You

Electrophysiology began in the middle of the eighteenth century, soon after methods of generating electricity became available.

I tell you honestly, there is no need of so many meditation techniques. Just one meditation is enough. But because you intellectual nuts have not been sincere enough to practice meditation, there are so many of them. There is actually only one meditation that is needed. That is the breath watch meditation.

First, I will give you a brief introduction to breath-watch. Why is breath-watch meditation so powerful? Breath is the base for all Existence. It is the bridge between you and Existence, between you and the universe. Just think, every time you inhale, you are inhaling in the universe; you are breathing in the world. Your breath is simply a bridge between you and the cosmos. This is why being aware of this moment is so important.

Now For The Technique:

Close your eyes and sit in a relaxed posture. Now, watch your breath. Become aware. Feel the breath first touching your nostrils. Then feel it going into your lungs, refreshing you. Then there is a short gap of less than a fraction of a second before the exhalation. Be aware of this gap also.

Next exhale. Feel the utter relaxation in the exhalation, the sense of peace. Be aware of the same breath that you inhaled from the world leaving you and entering back into the cosmos. Simply watch every part of your breath.

Do this for 21 minutes. After doing this for a few days, you will be

shocked by the freshness that you receive with every breath.

And this 'freshness' will never leave you.

Look In...

I have seen people chanting their Hare Rama Hare Krishna In total un-awareness.

They will say: Hare Rama Hare Rama, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna. Have you paid the bills? Hare Rama Hare Rama… hey, be quiet! Hare Rama Hare Krishna…"

If you are doing this, you might as well say, "Coca Cola, Coca Cola, Coca Cola…"!

What is the need of putting Krishna's name if you are not doing it in awareness?

At least be happy with your Coca Cola!

This is REAL meditation.

Even chanting Coca Cola with awareness will become a meditation, but chanting Lord Krishna's name without awareness will become pseudo meditation.

So, whatever you are doing, mantra chanting, prayer, meditation, do it with awareness; don't just blindly do it. Apply your full attention.

95PSEUDO MEDITATION From 8 to 12 cycles are alpha rhythms in the brain, which occur most often in relaxed meditation and are disrupted by attention.

Neuroscientists and Parapsychologists argue: Children's intelligence is governed by hereditary factors and the environment.

The famous Doctor Francis speaks a lot about brain, genes, and its functions with the internal environment and external environment. His first son is a doctor, his second son is a computer engineer, and his daughter is an English lecturer.

The above three different geniuses are produced from the same environment and same hereditary pattern. Intelligence is beyond your instrumental experimentation called research.

You may have intellect, you may have brains, but even if you have both of these, you may miss intelligence. You handle the whole world with intellect, with logic. Everything that you see, everything that you do has to be screened and connected with your intellect, with what you have read!

When you look at a flower, you connect and think about its name, its properties, etc. If you are doing this, be clear that you have never really seen a flower. You have looked only at your logic about the flower.

Don't screen everything through your logic. When you look at the flower and the thought comes, "This is a daisy…" Stop right there! Just tell your mind to keep quiet!

Now, look at the flower; do not think and look at the flower!

That's all that needs to be done, and this is intelligence.

97release The Gas

Hot air balloons were used in the first successful human attempts at flying.

The gas inside a balloon will not allow the balloon to relax freely on the ground. The balloon thinks that the greatness of it is because of the gas.

But in reality, the balloon is living in a danger zone because even a small needle can cause it to pop. The moment the gas is out, the balloon is free.

Look in...

You always think that your mind is very powerful. And you think through your mind.

Just see what an egoistic thing your mind is! It thinks that it is very great. And because as of now your mind is your master, you think that you are superior to everyone and everything.

Do not feel yourself to be so powerful by virtue of your mind. Just do this one thing to break your ego. Let your balloon pop. Release the gas.

Let you be free.

the charge on our life fields.

The master is like the moon. He gives his energy to all of us. And when he does, we realize that his energy is our energy.

Look In...

Feel the divine as all around you.

When the moon's light falls down on you, feel that light as divine light giving you guidance. When the sun shines on your face, feel the divine embracing you in a warm hug.

If you can do this, you will be able to see the divine not only in everything, but in yourself as well.

99 Foolish Philosophical Statements

Dale Carnegie was the author of the book 'How to win friends and influence people'. In his book, he deals with how to get over suicidal thoughts and how to have an intimate relationship with your wife. Be very clear, his books were sold next to the Bible in terms of quantity. If you read his biography you will be shocked. He committed suicide because he was not able to have a good relationship with his wife!

Don't laugh at this. You are doing the same thing every minute of your life. You set down rules for your children; you practically make your own philosophy. You say, "Don't sleep late. Wake up early. Don't smoke." These rules may be correct, but do you follow them? No! You smoke, you drink, you sleep late, you will be sleeping until two in the afternoon. And when your child questions you about this, what do you say? "What is my age and what is yours? Don't compare!" and by this very statement 'don't compare', you are comparing!

Look In...

Stop making all your foolish philosophical statements. By this I mean your foolish philosophy, your rules. By doing this, you are simply torturing yourself and others. No good is coming out of this. Yes, you can give advice, you can give guidance.

But there is no need to manipulate and make the child a buffalo!

Every individual has his inborn intelligence.

Guidance is okay, but let the individual be as he wants to be.

100 Be Blissful!

Neuroscientists say that short lived stress is good for brain functioning. This is because during that time, the hormone called adrenalin is released which improves your memory. During long term stress, the hormone called cortisol is released. Cortisol damages the brain and can even shrink the hippocampus which is the memory center of the brain.

A Tamil proverb "Alavakku mela amirthammum nanju" This means that if the quantity is increased, even the divine nectar will become a poison to you. Until you are enlightened, you will have peer pressure, work load, stress, etc. Once you become enlightened, you will have no difference like short term stress and long term stress; work pressure and peer pressure. After that, whatever you do will be blissful. You will be blissful by whatever you do.

Why Wait For Enlightenment To Have Bliss When You Can Have It Now?

I tell you: You are already a blissful being. You are already enlightened. Just show it. Just express it. Be blissful! That's what I am continuously saying, day in and day out.

Jump around in eternal freedom; dance, sing, do whatever; just be happy and drown in the river of ecstasy.

101 The Innocence Of The Ages

The germ theory in medicine is the theory that certain diseases are caused by the invasion of the body by microorganisms, organisms too small to be seen except through a microscope but are present everywhere.

The divine is present everywhere. I am reminded of a beautiful Zen story: A young girl became enlightened after studying with a Zen master for some time. One day, she was meditating, sitting on a box, when her father came there and shouted, "What are you doing? There is a Buddha statue in that box!" The girl replied, "Father, take me to a place where there is no Buddha."

This small girl is just an example.

Just see the innocence; just see the wisdom in her words. I don't want you guys to simply have the innocence of a child. I want you to have innocence with wisdom of the ages. A child may be innocent, but one day, the innocence will be lost. His innocence will be lost in the years to come. But the innocence of the ages will never be lost. Once it is reached, it can never go away.

So how can you attain this innocence of the ages?

You will acquire the innocence of the ages.

When you go out into society, just remain centered in your being. Where is your being? Feel it at your navel.

When you see someone smoking, immediately turn your awareness to your navel.

When you hear someone using dirty language, turn to your center.

Every religion is a different experience of that particular Master. It is just his way of expressing his own experience. Every Master is preaching the same message over and over again with different words. Just because Christ started Christianity, it does not make him a Christian. His religion is not Christianity alone. It belongs to the whole universe.

Do not think, 'I am Hindu, and every Buddhist teaching is wrong.'

Do not think, 'I am a Jain and every Islamic teaching is wrong.'

Every teaching is the same. It is us who makes them different.

Read the Dhammapada, the scriptures of Buddha with the openness and receptivity that he is the same as Shiva. Read the Bible, the scriptures of Jesus with the openness and receptivity that he is the same as Mahavira.

Read the Holy Koran, the scriptures of Mohamed with the openness and receptivity that he is the same as Jesus. This is the right way.

103the Ocean Of The Cosmos

The brain uses 25% of the energy, but occupies only 2% of the weight. You guys don't understand what has happened. Your brain has simply sucked your whole energy. In your energy body, most of you are like aliens because your energy bodies' head is keeping all of the energy, and believe me, it is big. It is at least twice the body's size. The rest of the parts of your energy body are like the limbs and ribs of a beggar in Somalia. Just because you are yet to increase your sensitivity to see the energy body, don't think that I am exaggerating; what I am telling you is the truth.

Now, I know your next question, 'How do we reduce our head weight?'

Try this: Lie down. Imagine that you are lying on a river. Just visualize that you are simply floating on top of a river.

Now, bring the attention to the head.

Feel your head becoming one with the river.

Feel it flowing with the river. Feel it merging.

You are being carried away by the river's gentle currents. Do not resist. Simply feel that the river is gently, very gently carrying you along with it. Actually, at this point, you should have merged with the river. So there is no question of it taking 'you' away, because there is no 'you' and no 'it'. Where will the river flow?

The river will flow until it meets the ocean of the cosmos.

104irritation, Vegetables And Concentration

A shocking piece of news:

The brain is the one which senses the pain, pleasure, pressure, etc. of the whole body. But the brain has no sensitivity to feel its own pain. To put a knife in the brain needs no anesthesia. Neurosurgeons say that opening the skull needs anesthesia. In order to cut and slice the brain, no anesthesia is needed. Like how your nail keeps quiet when you trim it, the brain will also behave in the same way.

The brain is an insensitive thing. You will be trying to meditate and it will create some irritation on your arm causing you to scratch. You will be in silence meditation and it will create some pain in the legs, disturbing you... After doing all this, you will simply get fed up and drop the technique altogether!

Look In...

So what if the brain wants to irritate you? Why do you choose to get irritated? Actually, you want to find excuses to get up and leave, that's all. I have knee pain. I am feeling sleepy. I have to buy vegetables. Is my car out of gas?' All these things can wait for half an hour. You simply finish your meditation in awareness.

Don't worry about the other things. Those are all secondary.

Only when you put your full concentration will the experience descend on you.

105two Hours - Enough!

Negatively charged air molecules are found near waterfalls, mountains, on beaches, river beds, etc. The air in such places is pure and fresh. Scientists have found that the higher the negative ion level in an environment, the lower the serotonin level in your brain. Serotonin is what helps put you to sleep.

Why sleep? What is the need of sleep? Honestly, you don't need more than two hours of sleep in a day. More than that and you will automatically fall into lethargy.

Look In...

You do not need more than two hours of sleep in a day. When you sleep for 10 to 12 hours, do you or do you not wake up feeling lethargic?

But when you sleep for only 2 to 3 hours, it may be difficult to wake up, but you are fresh for the rest of the day.

Try It Out.

Give it three day's time for your body to become accustomed to it.

After the three days, you will see the increase in your energy level.

You will see that 2 hours is simply enough!

106simply Break Away!

Many of the luxuries and so called comforts of life are dispensable and only a positive hindrance to the effective functioning of the brain. This is a scientifically proven statement.

Even Science is saying the same thing: Luxuries are a hindrance not only to the positive functioning of the brain, but act as a spiritual hindrance also. Being comfortable and living happily are not wrong. In fact it is good. Having luxuries is also okay. The problem starts when you become attached to your luxuries and it becomes difficult to live without them.

Look In...

So many people come to the ashram with this mind set. It is not that we don't have enough luxuries. We do!

There are some people who won't where white cloths in the ashram because they are afraid that it will get dirty! What nonsense!

Break away from these attachments to your luxuries.

They will lead you nowhere. Simply break way!

All dogs are animals. All cats are animals. Therefore some dogs are cats.

A man's mind… 1. That girl named Silvia is selfish. 2. That lady named Leela is selfish. 3. My Aunt named Geeta is selfish. Therefore, all women are selfish.

A woman's mind… 1. Rahul, my boss is dominating. 2. Abishek, my neighbor is dominating. 3. My Uncle is dominating. Therefore, all men are dominating.

Just see how your mind works.

Just see how your perception works.

It comes up with all types of things.

Your mind's work consists of only one thing: connecting or associating.

If a person is rude to you and you know his family, what do you think?

'Oh, if he is like this, I can't imagine what his family must be like.' Stop connecting. When your mind picks up one of these types of connections, don't allow it. Stop the process.

This is all that is needed to drop these connections.

107the Nonsense Of Connection

A Small Story:

Immediately after the death of his wife, a farmer asked a Buddhist priest to recite sutras for her soul's benefit. He wanted to know from the priest if his wife would gain merit as a result of the recitation. The priest said that not only his wife, but all sentient beings would benefit from the recitation. The farmer said, "That's fine." Then after a pause, "But do make one exception. I have a bad neighbor. He is extremely mean to me. Please exclude him from all of those sentient beings."

It doesn't have to be in this context, but selfishness, greed, and back biting are just an ordinary part of your day. What is the need?

Why is there this possession of each other?

Why is there this tit for tat happening?

From here onwards, if someone does something to you, drop it.

There is no need of getting back at them later. Simply leave the matter and move on.

When you go to the bank, you think of going grocery shopping. When you are shopping, you start worrying about how much money you have.

The list goes on and on. Money has literally become your life. Instead of being centered around money, be centered around life itself.

When I say this, I mean 'live in awareness'.

No aware man can ever be centered on money. Be very clear. Only out of unawareness does this unnecessary centering happen.

Be aware of every thought.

Be aware.

It should be a play.

Only if it is a play will the best come out. Otherwise, what is the use?

When you are working, do not be so serious about it. Work sincerely, but play around.

Do not be glued to the computer screen as if you are possessed. Look at the computer screen that is fine. The only thing is, look at it with aliveness. Do not look as if you are being sucked in!

This is working with fun.

111lick The Honey!

I am reminded of a beautiful Sufi proverb: 'So many thirsty people pass so close to the water, yet do not think of drinking'.

This is happening all the time. In meditation, you come so close; you have gone so deep; you can literally smell the honey. But then, you become afraid. The honey was right there waiting to be eaten, but you pulled away.

Look In...

Do not become afraid! Taste the honey. It is right in front of you, what are you waiting for?

Go deep. Wake up!

Simply put your hand in the honey and lick!

That is all that you need to do. It's as simple as that.

I don't believe in the word enlightenment because the very word itself has been corrected by many. One more thing: You cannot become enlightened because you are already enlightened. I give no guarantee for enlightenment. I only give one guarantee: I will shake you from your dream.

Sit by yourself and recount every single thing in your possession. Don't omit anything - even a safety pin.

Go over meticulously one after the other. Include all your possessions whether they are with you right now or whether they are anywhere else in the world. Your possessions may be lands, houses, books, anything.

You will find that it is near impossible to do this!

Now, just close your eyes and go deep within yourself. Connect to the all pervading Existence and offer your deepest gratitude for all that you have. Offer your gratitude with heartfelt sincerity.

Do this meditation as often as you can. You will find that you will stop asking for more, even give away some of your possessions happily and enjoy what remains. You will start living like a Master!

112you Will Be Shaken 0.1/ Infinity = Irrational # 0/ Infinite = 0 1/Infinite = Irrational # - This Is A Mathematical Truth.

Before the answer, the number was irrational, and even after the answer, it was irrational. How can the answer 0 come so suddenly? This may be correct mathematically and logically. Before you took this human body and even after you become enlightened you are irrational. Only in between the two, you are rational, caught in the net called the mind. You started feeling, 'I am an individual'.
