Nithya Kriya - Heart Diseases
About Heart Diseases
Cardiovascular disease refers to any of a number of specific diseases that affect the heart itself and/or the blood vessel system, especially the veins and arteries leading to and from the heart. The main contributors to heart disease are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, increased age and family history of stroke, diabetes and obesity. Some people who have heart disease don't experience symptoms. Malformations at birth, known as Congenital heart defects, can cause a hole in the heart or valve abnormalities and are the most common major birth defect. The most common form of heart disease is Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) which can lead to heart attack. Over time plaque (cholesterol deposits) builds up on the artery walls and limits the amount of blood flowing to the heart. This can cause chest pain, weakening of the heart and an irregular beat. Heart attack occurs when an artery is completely blocked or a piece of plaque breaks off and blocks the blood flow; often this is the first sign of (CAD).
