About Depression
Depression or Clinical Depression is a mental state of low mood with aversion to activity which affects the individual's thoughts, feelings, behavior and sense of wellbeing. Depression is a psychiatric disorder which is characterized by feelings of extreme sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, despair, guilt, insomnia, loss of energy, loss of appetite or overeating, inability to concentrate or focus, withdrawal from social contact, irritability, low self-esteem, discouragement and thoughts of death and suicide. Depression may result as a reaction to a particular negative life experience such as loss of loved one, physical illness, loss of job, relationship troubles or social isolation. It can also result as a side effect to drugs or medical treatments. These former cases may not require professional treatment. Prolonged depressive mood may lead to a medical condition such as a mood disorder, in which case professional help of the individual is required. Treatments vary according to the sub-divisions of depression, as determined by severity and length of affliction.

Step 1: PrāNa Mudrā
Technique
-
- Sit in Padma Asana (Lotus Pose)

- Bend your knees, Place your left feet on your right thigh and right feet on the left thigh.

- Keep your eyes closed and focus on your breath.
-
- Keep your hands on your thighs.
-
- Touch the tips of your ring finger and little finger to your thumb. The index and middle finger should be pointed straight.

- Feel the life force as it rushes through your body.
-
- Stay on this pose for 3 minutes.
Step 2: Deep Breathing
Technique
-
- Close your eyes.
-
- Inhale & exhale deeply as possible
-
- Repeat this breathing technique.
Step 3: Internal Seal – MūLa Bandha
Technique
-
- Sitting in Padmāsana, put the left heel under the perineum and sit on it.(This is called Mūla Bandha)
-
- Contract the abdominal muscles to expel the maximum amount of air from the Lungs
-
- Hold the breath outside as long as possible
-
- When you can't hold any more, slowly inhale
-
- Repeat this Bandha 11 times
Śāstra Pramāṇa
गुदन प्र््ूुसनप्ड व्चुम्कुञचेदषबल्ूष। व्रन व्रन चथ् चोररसम्च्नू सम्रगः ॥ १०४ ॥ प्ग्प्िषन ि्ानबानमनलबनेि चषऐकू्मष। गत् चोगत सनकसन्न चचूो ि्् सनृचः ॥ १०५ ॥
gudaṃ pārṣṇyā tu saṃpīḍya vāyumākuñcayed balāt | vāraṃ vāraṃ yathā cordhvaṃ samāyāti samīraṇaḥ || 104 || prāṇāpānau nāndabindū mūlabandhena caikatām | gatvā Yogasya saṃsiddhiṃ yacchato nātra saṃśayaḥ || 105 ||
Akashic Revelation
Pressing the anus with the heel, (the practitioner) should forcibly draw up the vital air in such a way that the air would move upwards stage by stage. The Prana and Apana (vital airs), as also the Nada (Intellect) and the Bindu (mind), becoming one by means of the Mula-bandha, bestow the successful accomplishment of Yoga. Herein there is no doubt.
Step 4: Breathing I

- Release Mūla Bandha (you can take your left heel out)

- Inhale slowly and fill the abdomen and the lungs as much as possible

- Hold the breath inside as long as possible

- Then exhale very slowly

- Repeat this technique 11 times
Step 5: Breathing Ii
Technique

- Exhale completely by contracting your abdominal muscles

- Retain the breath outside as long as you can
-
- When you inhale, inhale and fill your lungs and abdominal muscle

- Hold the breath inside as long as you can

- Repeat this technique 21 times
Steps For KAILASA's Nithya Kriya SM Cure For Depression
Step 1: Posture – PadmāSana
Technique

- Place the right foot on the left thigh and similarly the left one on the right.

- Cross the hands behind the back and firmly catch hold of the great toes of the feet so crossed.

- Place the chin on the chest and fix the gaze on the tip of the nose
-
- Settle in this posture for 30 seconds
Step 2: Breathing Technique - śItalī Kumbhaka
Āpta Pramāṇa

Akashic Revelation
Draw in the air through the mouth (with lips contracted and tonguethrown out), and fill the stomach slowly. Retain it there for a short time.Then exhale through both the nostrils. Let the Yogi always practice this Śītalī Khumbhaka, giver of bliss; by so doing, he will be free from digestion, phlegm and bilious disorders
Step 2: Breathing Technique - śīTali Kumbhaka

- Continue to sit in Padmaasana, close the eyes and relax the whole body

- Extend the tongue outside the mouth and roll the sides of the tongue up so that it forms a tube

- Inhale slowly through the tongue

- At the end of inhalation, roll the tongue in, close the mouth

- Retain it there for a short time
-
- Then exhale slowly through the nose

- Do this 21 times
Step 3: Breathing Technique - Bhastrika PrāNāYāMa
Technique

- Continue to sit in Padmāsana & inhale slowly expanding the stomach
-
- Exhale slowly
-
- Repeat this Kumbhaka 21 times.

- After 21 times, now inhale slowly

- Hold the breath as long as you can
-
- When you feel you cant hold quickly expel the air with the s o u n d o f b e l l o w s. A t t h is moment the stomach should contract to touch the back

- Do this complete sequence three times
Śāstra Pramāṇa
सिचोरथ भसेव लोिक्रत वेगूः ॥ ९६ ॥ रेचचेूषपनरचेद्चुम्ममन देिगन कवच् । चथ् ममो भवेदेिेूथ् सनच्ग पनरचेूष॥ ९७ ॥ कणसनकोचिन कृत् पुि््ेग रेचचेूष। व्ूनपत्ेशिरन ृर्र्न्नववव्िमष॥ ९८ ॥
stanayoratha bhastreva lohakārasya vegataḥ || 96 || recayet pūrayedvāyumāśramaṃ dehagaṃ dhiyā | yathā śramo bhaveddehe tathā sūryeṇa pūrayet || 97 || kaṇṭhasaṃkocanaṃ kṛtvā punaścandreṇa recayet | vātapittaśleṣmaharaṃ śarīrāgnivivardhanam || 98 ||
Akashic Revelation
(The practitioner) should intelligently expel with speed the air in the body, out of the two breasts and fill (it) in (likewise), till he is overcome with fatigue, as with a blacksmith's pair of bellows. When fatigue comes on in the body, then should he fill in through the Solar (Nadi) and after constricting the throat, should expel (it) again through the Lunar (Nadi).

oṁ pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidaṁ pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate | pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate || || oṁ shānti shānti sāntiḥ
"From the space of Completion only Completion comes out. Even when Completion comes out, Completion remains as Completion. When the Completion goes back, Completion remains as Completion".
