Material Required: 1. Poster Paper
-
- Water colors
-
- Brushes
-
- Any other preferred art/craft materials can be used: paints, crayons, glue, paper of different colors, scissors, magazines, newspaper
Preparation:
Get all the materials together and have the children gather in a circle after discussion time.
Discussion: Talk about our feelings when we separate ourselves as an individual drop, separate in our boundary and in our feelings. How do we feel when we are experiencing being part of the cosmic, "grand ocean" , not individual drops. Express your love through a creative process, through the arts. Have an experience creating as a group, not as an individual. Let's make a collage for the topic love. Each child will add their own unique part but with the consideration that this is only a part of the whole picture/collage. Think how you can express your love using different colours or shapes etc. How can you add something to what has been already drawn or painted. Which colour or shape are you associating love with? It would be nice to use water colours, so that the colours can merge. How to come up with ideas for collage: Help children to come up with ideas by going over what they learned today and previously about LOVE. What was the most touching thing? Ask them for different words describing their emotions, understanding or experiences. Name your art project together.
Instruction: 1.Children are to sit in a circle on the ground or around the table.
2.Explain the process of creating a collage together.
- Make them visualize the colors or shapes they see, how would they paint the emotions they feel in their heart?
-
- Use colors to express your love on the canvas.
Goals: To make the children become aware of the responsibility, awareness.
Preparation: Make the children sit in a circle with their friends. Ask the child to create or draw something about compassion.
Presentation: Each child can use the materials available and they can make a craft or art related to compassion. Children are asked to carry the treasure they made to all the places they visit, wherever they go for nearly one week. This improves their responsibility, awareness and memory. They can term the treasure as the treasure of their inner space.
Interpretation: Their activity enhances the children to improve their memory and inculcate responsibility and awareness.
