WHAT IS KARMA ?

Many would have heard the word karma. Each one has some understanding of what it is based on what one has read in books or heard from others. karma needs to be understood clearly because it is the basis of the cycle of life and death. It is the basis of blissful living. Karma is a Collection of Unfulfilled Experiences Karma is a collection of unfulfilled experiences that stay and constantly pull individuals to fulfil them. These unfulfilled experiences reside because one did not do certain actions with intensity and depth. Anything that one does and experiences intensely and deeply will always leave the individual's system. It will be liberating. However, any experience that one did not go through completely, through which one did not have complete fulfilment, that did not get full energy, attention and awareness, remains inside as karma. Hangovers are karma. Anything completely lived liberates the individual. That is why Zen people even sipping tea, they get liberated. If one completely lives and sips even a cup of tea he is liberated. When one is not completely aware and involved in the action he is engaged in, the being remains unfulfilled in that experience. The unfulfilled experience remains inside and keeps pulling the individual to do the action again with intensity to fulfil it. This is karma. Are we fully conscious of every action we engage in? Are we aware every moment of our lives? A small story: A man was travelling by cab to the airport. The cab driver was driving very fast even around corners and sharp turns. The passenger was getting terrified with his driving. Finally, the cab driver seeing the terrified passenger, said, 'Why don't you do what I do when I take turns? Just shut your eyes!'

HOW MUCH KARMA DO YOU CARRY?

The attitude, the bhāva forms the basis for the way to connect with life and with the world. The same attitude forms the basis for connecting with the self. That is what is called karma in Vedic tradition. karma does not come as a quantity. It comes as a mental setup. For example, in a family - somebody is born and brought up, and the family eats non-vegetarian food. It is not that how many animals they killed, all that bad negativity comes to the son. But the habit of eating non-vegetarian comes to the son. Then karma only as a pattern comes, not as a quantity. Om Pūrṇamādah Pūrṇamidam Pūrṇāt Pūrṇamudachyate Pūrṇasya Pūrṇamādāya Pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate Om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ

WHEN DO YOU ACCUMULATE KARMA?

It means that our basic nature is Wholeness or fulfilment. We always seek fulfilment in anything that we do. Whether it is eating, drinking, jumping, reading, talking, sleeping or meditating, in any activity that we engage, our being yearns to completely experience the activity and be fully involved in it. Even though one carries some karma, basically that individual is complete fulfilment, Wholeness. So any karma that has not been fulfilled cannot rest inside for too long. It will try its best to fulfil itself. It will drive again and again to go through the same activity so that it can be fulfilled. Any desire, any experience, which has not become complete in an individual's system, will remain as karma and push again and again to make one go through the same experience until it is fulfilled. In life, one continuously takes decisions. These decisions are not only for the major events in an individual's life; even the words that one talks continuously, the thoughts that one harbours continuously is the individual's own decision. All individual's thoughts, words and actions collectively contribute towards the individual's Karmic bagagage because none of them give rise to fulfilment. When they do not give rise to fulfilment, they become Karmic baggage that pushes the individual to fulfil them. One thinks, speaks and does things without clarity, without fulfilment, with deep ignorance. When one does this, the individual's inherent nature, which is fulfilment, starts suffering. Therefore one's own thoughts, words and deeds become the individual's karma and drive him to reach fulfilment in some way. For example, In status-quo life one reads, sees and understands more from the brain than from the reality. Most of the time the spelling mistakes one makes while the individual reads a newspaper, or a magazine, or the IPod will be very, because the individual doesn't read from there, he reads from the brain. One will suddenly realize, 'Oh God,' second time, third time when one reads, "Oh, this is what is there! But I thought this is what is there!" Even while seeing one doesn't see the object to read from, he sees from the brain. In the status-quo of life, individuals are almost caught in the cobweb of thinking, which is a very suffocating karma pattern, mental pattern which does not let one relate with reality. There are three interrelated concepts, termed Vāsana, Samskāra and karma, in Hinduism. Vāsana: is the seed of desire. For example, you are walking and you happen to see a dazzling necklace displayed outside a shop. A desire arises inside you to possess it. This is Vāsana. Samskāra: is the plant that grows when the seed of Vāsana sprouts. When you feed the desire to possess the necklace it is like supplying water and nutrition to the seed of Vāsana. From our childhood we collect so many different samskāras in so many ways. We accumulate them and also reproduce them. Samskāras reproduce themselves even without any further action from our part. The corruption that happens to the inner space is what called samskāra or engraved memories. They are the memories that go and sit in your inner space and pull you to go through the same experience repeatedly. They pull you to do the same kind of actions repeatedly, pull you to run through the same kind of thought patterns, even if you don’t want to. Any samskāra that is operating in your conscious or unconscious layer is nothing but a hindrance to the fulfilment of your life. There is no such thing as good or bad samskāra. No samskāra is good. An inner space filled with samskāra is hell. An inner space without samskāra is heaven. Do not try to classify samskāra as good or bad. A samskāra by itself, by its very nature, is negative. By its very nature samskāra is depressive. Anything done out of samskāra will reduce everything to boredom and emptiness. Anything that happens with a deep understanding, just out of your pure inner space, always adds value to you. Anything done out of samskāra adds more and more bondage to you. There are some samskāras that get strengthened only by action, when you repeat the action. There are some samskāras that get strengthened just by receiving information with regard to them, when you receive input from the world about them. There are some other samskāras that need neither action nor information, just remembrance is enough and they get strengthened. We collect these different levels of samskāras or engraved memories, store them in our system and expand them. Finally when driven by the desire we execute the action and it becomes karma. The power of desire drives us into finally buying that necklace. That is the action, the karma.

FATIGUE, TIREDNESS, STRESS, GUILT AND EMOTIONS ARE SOURCE OF YOUR KARMA

We have seven energy layers in our body. We store different samskāras in each of the seven different layers. :

LAYER 2

The second layer is made up of the prāṇa movement inside your body. Prāṇa is actually the life energy that you take in when you breathe. Air is the medium that brings in prāṇa for sustaining your life. There are five stages in the movement of prāṇa in your body that constitute what is called prāṇic body or breath body layer. The samskāra related to desires are stored in the prāṇa, the breathing. That is why, whenever your desires are changing, suddenly you will see the breathing pattern will also change. For example, if you are caught by a strong desire like lust or anger, your breathing pattern will change. It will be chaotic. The more you enter into action based on those desires the stronger these engrams will become.

LAYER 4

The fourth layer is the emotion layer. I can say that intense inner chatter that does not respond to your logical analysis is what we call 'emotions'. In this layer, you store all the visualizations related to pain. This fourth layer of pain is a very powerful layer. You don't need any action or information to strengthen the engrams. Neither do you need action nor do you need information related to pain. Whenever your desires are changing, you will see the breathing pattern will also change. So you don't have to have the same pain again and again. You don't even need to receive information related to that pain. Just the engrams are enough. They can multiply. They can simply expand and multiply.

LAYER 5

The silence you experience during deep sleep is the fifth layer. It is called the causal body layer. Even though there are engrams in this layer, you cannot do anything about them, because in the deep sleep, your mind cannot do anything. It is an unconscious layer. If in the first four layers you can reduce the depth of the engrams, samskāras, the fifth layer and the sixth layer will be cleansed naturally. The fifth layer will be cleansed if you clean the first four layers. If the fifth layer is cleansed, you will start experiencing the sixth layer more and more.

LAYER 6

In deep meditation, the joy and the intense vibrant silence from the thoughtless awareness that you experience is the sixth layer. The sixth layer is the meditation layer. If you are getting into the deep sleep layer more easily, it means the first four layers are clean. If the first four layers are not clean, then you will suffer more in the fifth layer. That is why, when you have more stress and load, a lot of suffering related to sleep starts happening in life.

LAYER 7

The seventh layer is enlightenment

USE KARMA AS A KEY TO GET OUT OF FRUSTRATION

Any situation you are in, when you are frustrated, look in and find out, 'What must be the best thing in this situation for which I have aspired this situation in my past?' Let me look from that context at this situation.' You will see you are enjoying exactly what you wanted. Understanding the original context for which you aspired for the present situation, and looking at the present situation from that very context, and enjoying, celebrating it, is completion. The moment you start celebrating the present happening, you are now qualified to make your updated aspirations into reality. If you celebrate the CEO chair, quickly you can jump into the politician's chair. If you celebrate the politician's chair from the context why you asked for it, you can quickly jump into the Swami's seat. If you celebrate that from the very context you asked, understanding, you can quickly jump into Swami-hood itself. Even karma is not binding if you understand the context. You feel karma is binding because your context has become matured, your aspirations have become matured. Aspirations getting matured should be celebrated, not to be cursed, not to be dealt with frustration. Even your karma is not a curse on you. No, even your frustration cannot frustrate you any more, if you understand the frustration is caused by your aspirations getting matured. You want the CEO chair, you achieve it before your aspirations get matured towards the politician's chair, or towards the Swami's seat. Your life may look like heaven, but not enlightenment. Aspirations not getting matured, but your past aspirations getting fulfilled, is heaven. I tell you, it is only the Bhuloka, the Planet Earth is the only loka where the aspirations getting matured is possible. That is why even gods and goddesses have to come to this plane for evolution. Evolution is possible only if your aspirations are able to mature. Analyse your whole life with this one Truth. No frustration can frustrate you anymore. Frustration frustrates you only if you are from the wrong context. When you aspired for the CEO chair, you must be having some context. But, when you sit in that chair, you forget the context and start aspiring for a politician's chair. Again, when you sit in the politician's chair, you forget the context why you aspired for it, and aspire for Swami's seat. That is why life continues to be frustrating. Nothing wrong in your aspirations getting matured. Something is seriously wrong in you forgetting the context of why you are having what you are having. One more great news I have for you is, your aspirations getting matured does not necessarily need you for getting the context with which you created your present. You can continue to celebrate your present and make your aspirations get matured. That space is Nithyananda Loka! Your aspirations getting matured does not necessarily require frustration, it is not pre-condition, you forgetting the context of your earlier aspirations is the problem. When you forget the context why you aspired for it, will become perspiration even if you achieve it, because the context is forgotten. Forgetting the context is not a prerequisite for your aspirations to get matured. Knowing the context of the present, why you are having, why you aspired for it, remembering that right context, and celebrating what you are having, and your aspirations getting matured, can happen together. That is what I call completion.

KARMA GUIDES YOU TO LIVE A BLISSFUL LIFE

Not letting the frustration happen towards the present happening of your life, at the same time letting your aspirations getting matured, is saying yes to life. You are always given a very wrong advice: 'Only if you feel frustrated about the present, your aspirations will get matured'. You don't need to be discontented about the present to develop higher aspirations about the future. You don't need to be discontented about the Second Standard (Second Grade in Indian schools) you are studying in order to reach the Third Standard. You don't need discontentment about the Second Standard to reach the Third Standard. If you have been taught - 'You need to be discontented, you need discontentment; only then you will grow, your aspirations will get matured' - it is a wrong teaching. That is what I call saying no to life, 'killing the Ātma', Ātmahana Believing frustration about the present is required for the aspirations to get matured is Ātmahana. Not knowing the context of the present created by you when you aspired for it is Ātmahana. Feeling frustrated when the present happens to you by forgetting it is your own request which was granted is Ātmahana. In every situation, whenever you perceive life is denying you what you want, don't give up, wait and look in, What is being denied?' Look into your perception; it will become fact, it will become Truth, it will become Reality. No one is good, no one is bad. If somebody does the actions which fulfil your ambitions, you call them good. If somebody does actions which are not fulfilling your ambitions, you call them bad. No one is right, no one is wrong.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The problem is you have been told that you will go to hell if you accumulate sins and to heaven if you gain merits. Society uses these concepts to control you. Only with the help of these concepts does it try to keep you under its control. It tries to control you through fear and greed - through fear of hell and greed of heaven. There is no good deed or bad deed that will come to your help at the time of death. There is no hell or heaven. Hell and heaven are both states of your mind, not locations in some distant future in the Divine's own land. When you think good thoughts, when you do good deeds, you feel good and you are in heaven. When you think evil, when you act evil, you feel evil and you are in hell. That is all. That is all there is to karma. This is the cosmic cause-and-effect principle. You are what your intent is. You become what your intent is. If you create thoughts, words or actions that do not emanate from deep awareness but from a superficial layer, then you create karma that further propels you to fulfil those superficial thoughts, words or actions. Question: 'If we are all cleansed of all karma, does this mean that when we do something that causes karma, do the consequences come much sooner if not instantly? In a normal situation, what makes instant karma happen? Why does certain karma carry over for a long period of time?' Your action does not produce any more karma. karma is nothing but the actions out of incompletion leads to more incompletion. For example, if you eat ice-cream out of incompletion, that becomes a deeper pattern. But after you do completion, the same ice-cream will not become a big pattern in you. It may just be in the level of habit, that is all; not pattern. The more completion space you carry, less impact you create as karma. For example, out of incompletions, deep greed arises. When you take ice-cream, the pattern you create is like a carving on the stone, which will stay forever. Out of completion, you complete with that pattern, why you start this ice-cream pattern, may be just to tell your friends you are rich, richer than others. So, you buy the big ice-cream, before you eat you show it to everybody, by that time it melts away! You would have done something like that. From there only the pattern would have started. After you complete, even if you eat the same ice-cream, the pattern you create will be like a writing on the water; it won't even stay for a few seconds. And, one more thing you need to know, when you are in completion, if you do any karma, the consequences will be coming won't be much; there won't be any consequences. There will not be any consequences. But the space you carry will have consequences. That will happen immediately. Immediately it will happen. Instantly it will happen. So, this instant karma is nothing but the space you carry after the completion. The more incompletions you carry, Karmas reside in you, and you carry it over for a long period. Listen, carrying it over for a long period does not mean the effect comes very late. No! Effect is continuously coming! Continuously suffering. So, the instant karma, effect of karma, everything is based on the space you carry.

QUESTION

During our lifetime we get chances to reduce our karma. Do we get such chances of reducing karma between death and rebirth? Thank you.

So innocent people also get killed Swamiji?

Yes because there is such big Karmic cleansing happens, there are few who are not directly involved also are dead.

So what happens to them Swamiji after they die?

So naturally get immediately another birth. They don't wait or suffer like other people like a ghost. Question: Will a human be born as an animal, bird or insect or can he be born as human being in the next birth?

3 Āgāmya or Biology of Karma

Understand this may not be the first time one has taken a body and come to planet Earth. Sañcita karma (Chemistry) is like a bank, a reserve bank. Put together, they are called Sañcita karma (Chemistry). In Sanskrit, there is one more word: samooчита for this. The Karmas acquired from the moment one started feeling he is an individual independent entity; the moment one starts feeling he exists individually - from that moment till this moment - whatever ripple effects of actions created, sediments of the action waves that happened, the impressions of the Karmic effect that happened, the Vāsanā and Samskāra both put together is called Sañcita karma (Chemistry). When I say 'bank', it is not a collection or saving, it is debt. The individual will have to empty out all the credit. Prārabdha or Physics of Karma The next type of karma is Prārabdha karma (Physics). Prārabdha (Physics) means from the Sañcita (Chemistry) bank of karma one takes some karma, creates his body out of it and decides to enjoy and exhaust all those Karmas through that body when one takes birth. So Prārabdha (Physics) is just a small bit which one has brought into this life, to enjoy or exhaust through this body of his. Physics is the happening. What you manifest is physics - powers, or powerlessness, whatever. Any happening is only these two. Physics is the result of inner space or biology of karma. When an idea or a thought causes an action, the happening of that action is physics of karma. Physics is also changing; it is not stagnant because as the cognitions change even the actions will naturally change. Being able to do power manifestation in every level of life; manifesting one's desires and realities whether it is money, job, health or relationships is physics. The eternal expansion of the universe also happens through physics. There are only two units in the physics of karma: powers or powerlessness. Anything that happens is only these two. Through the physics of karma it is possible for you to manifest anything you want. Any reality can be manifested through physics of karma. Whether it is the expansion within you (microcosm) through power manifestation or the continuous, eternal expansion of the universe (macrocosm). Both the microcosm and macrocosm get expanded through physics of karma. When you add powerful cognitions to physics you will be able to break the physics of matter and go beyond matter to manifest your realities even from other worlds, other lokas.

ĀGĀMYA OR BIOLOGY OF KARMA

The third type of karma is the worst. It is the Āgāmya karma (Biology), the karma which you start collecting after coming down to planet Earth, because of fresh thoughts, words and deeds of yours.

Karma Theory Decoded

Just yesterday I was looking at a beautiful one liner on Math - one guy is saying I don't think Math is a science, it is a religion. The other guy says how. This guy says all these equations are like miracles. You take one number, and another number gives the third number. How can you prove the third number happens? It is because you believe it. That's all! If you are a religious atheist you are a math atheist. Math needs to be understood with utility value. For example, if you say 2 plus 2 is 4, you can say how can this be true? But when you believe this, you can run your life smoothly. Complications are reduced. The many mystical laws can be logical day to day life. Science means making mystical things into logical day to day life style. When you believe 2 plus 2 is 4 you can understand many more math, laws, logic. Same thing we are saying when you believe this karma plus karma equals that karma, you ask for proof. More calculation, understandings can be done based on utility value 2 plus 2 is 4. Your life can become much more better, happier, comfortable. But when you believe this and based on that your life will have a utility value. When you understand this 2 plus 2 is 4, lot of things about life becomes comfortable. For example, when you know 2 plus 2 is 4 - 2 feet if you digged, 4 feet if you walk you will fall. You will know you will fall and be prepared. Something will be clear. It will make life more comfortable, more livable. Religious understandings are here to make life more liveable! The constitution of the cosmos comes for compassion. It is for life. It is not against life. So the law of karma, the cause and effect truths needs to be looked at like how you look at math. Based on the utility value you need to look at this and understand that this is truth and start believing. Mathematicians have done a lot of calculation, analysis, and the best beliefs which makes life simple and makes your life more liveable. Make these formulas and present them. Same way the inner scientists do research. They make all these theorems, formulas present it to us as law of life. So the essence of what I wanted to share with you - the sacred secret is karma theory is the math of cosmos.

CAUSING PAIN IS RECORDED AS KARMA

The Cosmos does not record anything other than violence. Means, only if one causes pain, karma gets recorded. Other than violence, nothing is recorded as karma. For example, somebody goes and steals two billion dollar from a multi billionaire and that fellow is loaded with trillions of dollars - he doesn’t care, He goes out, he doesn’t bother – the individual doesn’t get karma. If one goes to a homeless guy, steals a few pennies and that fellow rolls on the ground and cries. The individual gets karma. You see when the cosmos decided to manifest as this Universe and as all of us - the only principle it declared is “let Me become many to celebrate Me.” It means only one principle “let us all coexist,” that’s all. Only if that is broken “let us all coexist” karma comes, other than that nothing is karma. Law of the land does not apply in the law of the Cosmos. These two are different. Don’ts of the law of the land and understandings of society - all that no way touches the law of the Cosmos. See the Divine, Paramaśiva, he becomes many, he declares “let Me become many to celebrate Me” - so more and more celebration caused becomes good karma. More and more pain caused becomes bad karma. That’s all. An individual may give a billion dollars to somebody and might not be happy about it - one doesn’t get good karma. An individual may be giving a penny to somebody and he is just praising and glorifying, he is just ecstatic, then the soul gets good karma. It is the experience caused matters, not the other money or quantity or quality or the work or any of that done.

EFFECT OF DEBT AND ENMITY IS KARMA AND CAUSES MORE KARMA

Karma is not just an effect of incompletion - karma can be the cause of more and more incompletion. Once the incompletions start, either you have to be moving towards completion or more and more incompletions. You cannot just keep quiet. What is incompletion? For example, you are sitting here right now, hearing me speak, but you are not listening to me, you are thinking-'I have not done this, I have not done that, this has not happened, that has not happened, I am restless'-that is incompletion. If you have such incompletions inside, be very clear, you will not be listening to me. You may be sitting here out of compulsion or some other reason, but you will not be listening to me. And when you don't listen, more and more incompletions happen. It is a vicious circle If you are sad, watch and meditate on your misery. Observe how you created the sadness. See how the root of your misery lies within you. The mind constantly tells you everybody else is responsible for your misery, spouse, friend, boss, or the man down the street. It always goes on throwing responsibility on somebody else. A small story: There was an ad in the newspaper for a professional that ended with, 'We want a responsible man for the job.' A man applied for the job. In his interview, he introduced himself saying, 'I think I am just the person for your job.' The employer asked curiously, 'Why?' The man replied, 'Wherever I worked, whenever anything went wrong, they told me I was responsible.' Be very clear, nobody except you is responsible for what you feel, what you do. Nobody can make you suffer without your silent permission. Once you understand that whatever happens is from deep inside you, you will suddenly see things changing. Take full responsibility for yourself and see how you become integrated in whatever you do. When you stop blaming others, when you understand that you are responsible for everything, you will become more and more aware of every action, every thought of yours. That awareness is enough. You will act intelligently. If you want to be sad, you will be sad. Nothing wrong with that just is total in that sadness. If you feel there is no need to be sad and you want to be happy, be happy. That's all.

YOUR MIND

Different thoughts are continuously flowing in you. One may be related to pain or a painful experience. Another may be related to joy or a joyful experience. The next one may be related to joy, but you think of it as pain. It is referred to as JP on the chart - joyful experience, painful impression. Similarly you may have a thought that is related to a painful experience, but you think of it as joy. It is referred to as PJ - painful experience, joyful impression. Understand that no two thoughts are logically connected. No thought is responsible for the creation of another thought. They all appear randomly, independently, and illogically.

What is Unclutching?

How do you 'unclutch' from this random stream of thoughts? We will be using the word 'unclutch' again and again. Let's clearly define what is meant by 'unclutch'. When we change gears while driving a car, whether we change from first to second or second to third, or any gear for that matter, we have to pass through neutral every time. We have to completely depress the clutch, or 'unclutch', move through neutral, and only then we can go to the next gear, right? In the same way, we experience a neutral space between any two thoughts in our mind. That neutral space, that silence that exists between two thoughts, is peace and bliss. When we no longer grab onto thoughts and connect them to the past or future, we remain 'unclutched'. As we remain 'unclutched' from our thoughts we become more aware of the neutral spaces between thoughts. The gap between the thoughts will automatically extend when we remain 'unclutched' from the stream of thoughts. We will dwell in the neutral space longer and experience more and more peace and bliss.

Unclutching Makes You More Creative and Productive

There is no linear connection between one thought that we have and another thought that we have. The only relationship between thoughts is that they come from the same source. But we constantly connect one thought and the next thought in a linear manner. Just as bubbles in a fish tank rise from the bottom, our thoughts also rise in the same manner. When one bubble comes and reaches the surface of the water, the next bubble starts and then the third bubble starts. Because the bubbles are rising at a high speed, they look like a continuous stream! Actually there is always a gap between two bubbles. Like the bubbles, we also experience a neutral space between two thoughts. Since the gap or the neutral space between two thoughts is so small, we think all thoughts are connected and form a shaft. But there is always a gap between two thoughts. He may seem extreme and you may laugh when you hear this. But just look intensely at your own life. You are doing the same thing - constantly creating illogical connections. You forget to see incidents as being independent of each other. You forget to see thoughts as being independent. The only relationship between thoughts is that they come from the same If you just learn this one simple technique of unclutching, you will be able to retain a significant amount of energy in your system, in your being. As a result, you will be many times more productive and creative. Your relationships will be much friendlier because you will not clutch incidents that are not related. You will not feel suffocated by people or their expectations of you. You will have tremendous inner space available to you to fulfill your needs, as well as others' needs. You will also have tremendous compassion to know why others are suffering. It is only when you don't understand why the other person is suffering that you are harsh with them. When you unclutch, you are able to accommodate that person in your inner space. You are automatically compassionate. Your very life has a different quality and you become a different person in the world.

UNCLUTCHING THROUGH THE BREATH TECHNIQUE

Let us see how unclutching is related to what happens every moment in your body – breathing! Between the incoming breath and the outgoing breath is a neutral space. Your identity exists in the incoming and outgoing breath spaces. Constantly you can connect and see you are connected when you are aware of your breath. But in the gap of the neutral space your identity does not exist. You don’t connect the gaps, so you jump over this gap. You think that the breathing space or breathing time is more than the neutral space. This is because you have more thoughts when breathing. Because you give more emphasis to your identity you think that the time of the incoming breath and outgoing breath is more than the time of neutral space. In reality it is not. It is just a psychological game.

Hold Strong Intention To Change Āgāmya Karma

When you have a problem do not suspect just your actions, suspect the very YOU. Means, your very thought current, your very idea about you. Suspect that very YOU; because change, transformation, re-inventing yourself, having a breakthrough from karma pattern - all this is easy and doable in simple decision of suspecting your very thought current. We have seven layers or seven bodies of energy, which are physical, pranic, mental, etheric, causal, meditation and nirvanic. In the causal layer our gathered or Āgāmya karma is completely available for us. See, in the causal body, you may have the skills to play cricket, golf and tennis. If you get up from deep sleep with a strong will or intention to play cricket, then you will also bring from the causal body the intelligence to play cricket. You will be naturally led into the situations, the atmosphere and the intelligence for it. If you go to sleep at night with a strong intention to play golf and you wake up in the morning with the strong intention to play golf, then you will bring with you that intelligence to play golf. The causal layer is an exchange place. It is like monetary exchange. In the causal layer you can exchange anything. When you go to the causal layer the karma of this birth itself can be changed if you have that strong intention every day. This is true freedom. Strong intention has the capacity to change the gathered Āgāmya karma and the Prārabdha karma of this birth. It cannot change the total Sañcita karma. Sañcita karma can only be changed by the grace of the Guru, one who is without Karmas.

AWARENESS: THE ULTIMATE KEY TO REDUCE KARMA

You become what your intent is. If you create thoughts, words or actions that do not emanate from deep awareness but from a superficial layer, then you create karma that further propels you to fulfil those superficial thoughts, words or actions. Your life is nothing but the totality of the conscious choices that you continously make. Whether you want to or not, directly or indirectly, you are choosing everything. Someone else does not choose. It is you who chooses.

A small story:

An employee approached his boss, 'Sir, my wife said I should ask you for a raise.' The boss replied, 'Oh, I will ask my wife tonight whether or not I should give you a raise!'

Another small story:

In a calamity a whole village was wiped out. All the men and women were lined up at the gates of heaven. the Divine said, 'I want the men to form two lines. The men who dominated their women on earth shall be in one line. The men who were dominated by their women shall be in the second line.' The line of the men who were dominated by their women was miles long. In the line of men who dominated their women, there was only one man. God was curious and asked the lone man in the line, 'How did you manage not to be dominated by your wife?' The man replied, 'I don't know. My wife told me to stand here!' When you are caught in fear, naturally you are ready to do what society tells you. You are no longer master of yourself. You are under the control of society. Understand, there is no hell or heaven existing physically somewhere. Hell and heaven are psychological states of your mind. When you think good thoughts, when you do good deeds, you feel good and you are in heaven. When you think evil, when you act evil, you feel evil and you are in hell. That is all there is to karma. This is the cosmic cause-and-effect principle. The results of the actions should be surrendered, not the action itself.

LIBERATE YOURSELF FROM KARMA BY BRINGING YOUR THOUGHTS PER SECOND DOWN

If you don’t know your past completely, you will repeat the same things in the future. If your Thoughts Per Second (TPS) can come down and you know your past as it happened, you won’t repeat the same past in the future. You will then become a karma Muktā, liberated from karma. As of now you are a karma bandhā, bonded to karma because you have not lived your past completely. For example, your childhood always seems golden. It was the golden past. You may feel your life in college was great, but when you were actually in college, you didn’t really feel that way. Why? Only because your suffering has become much more now and in comparison, the past seems very nice! Now you attribute joy to your past and if given a chance you want to repeat it. When you lived through it, did you actually experience it? No! All meditation techniques are ways to bring down your TPS so that you can penetrate the time shaft.

The Science Of Completion

This science of completion is the most sacred secret revealed by Śrī Krṣṇa in the Bhagavad Gītā, which is the most powerful rājavidyā rājaguhyam, royal sacred knowledge and royal sacred secret. This royal sacred science of completion keeps us eternally in love with life, eternally experiencing life.

What is Completion?

Completion means living and acting without any hangover of the past incidents, words, actions or memories. Not having a hangover does not mean that you will not remember your past at all. When you are in completion, you will remember past incidents and actions, but they will no longer have the power to cause pain or anger or guilt in you anymore. Another definition of Completion: Completion is nothing but reclaiming the bits and pieces you threw away in unconsciousness. The parts of you, bits of you, pieces of you that you shared or threw them with so many things and people in your life unconsciously; reclaiming all those parts back and becoming complete with you, is Completion.

TECHNIQUES TO COMPLETE

Samskāra Dahana Kriya is one comprehensive process that completes your root pattern, branch pattern, leaf pattern, fruit pattern. From your root pattern to fruit pattern, all patterns are completed. Samskāra Dahana Kriya is such a powerful process, from your root pattern to fruit pattern, all patterns are completed.

01 PENNING DOWN ALL THE PAINS YOU WENT THROUGH IN YOUR LIFE

02 RE-LIVING FIVE TIMES IN YOUR INNER-SPACE. 03 RE-LIVING USING THE MIRROR FIVE TIMES. 04 SHARING WITH SOMEBODY FIVE TIMES. 05 LISTENING TO OTHER PERSONS’ INCOMPLETIONS - AT LEAST FIVE MEMBERS. SO, IF YOU SEE, IT WILL BE TWENTY ACTIONS.

Decision Making

Your bio-memory needs to be infused, your decision-making mechanism needs to be informed that the source of energy available to you, the source of life available to you, the source of love available to you, the source of wealth available to you, everything is unlimited. In your bio-memory all of you feel you lack resources. Whether love, your bio-memory needs to be informed you have the love of the Divine Your bio-memory which makes decisions in your life needs to be informed you have a resource like the ultimate.

DISCARD YOUR STUCK THOUGHT CURRENTS TO EXHAUST KARMA

If you are entertaining the thought current you don't have enough energy to wake up in the morning, I tell you, even if you have billions of dollars you will be constantly craving you don't have enough money to do what you want; because you do not know the power of money you accumulated. You will consider them as zeros and still continue to feel poor. I tell you, feeling stuck inside is the real poverty. Feeling stuck is your karma pattern, when I say feeling stuck I will define: Today you somehow wake up, do little yoga and even go up to the level of Kirtans, Guru Pūjā, and then 9'oclock flat. Then for one week, nothing moves. Again after a week, you attend 'karma Webinar' and you decide to break from that pattern. Again, two days, things move, again you are back to square one, sometimes even square zero. This is what I call feeling stuck in the pattern. This is what I call feeling stuck in the pattern. Person who is stagnant, who feels stuck with the basic issues of the body, even if he has billions of dollars under his disposal, even if he owns billions of dollars, he won't feel himself as wealthy or rich. In two plates, if the highest health in one plate and the highest wealth in the other plate, if they're kept and stretched in front of me, I'll choose highest health. I tell you, because 'what you feel about you' decides your fulfilment, your completion. If you are stuck in your health or in any other pattern, that feeling stuck gives you the deep sense of poverty and feeling deprived that life is not fair to you. Life is exploiting you.

If

you are not able to cause even one reality you want, question the whole thought current you have.

Not

Na

just discarding one thought or one thought pattern, discarding thought currents is completion. Understand, when you complete with your root pattern, the collective, your family's root pattern will stand in front of you.

Then the whole universal, cosmic root pattern will stand in front of you, complete that, and then you are Paramaśiva. Constantly being in completion with others reduces the psychological baggage you carry, the psychological luggage you carry is what in Sanskrit we call “karma”. Completion with others, takes away the baggage you carry. The incompletions you continue to carry is “karma”.

Align Your Actions To Cosmic Law And Be Free From Karma

Karma is disturbing the natural expansion process of the Universe. From Brihadaaranyaka Upaniṣad we understand aligning our actions to the various energy of the cosmos, we can experience the ultimate. That is why I tell people, the person who drinks and smokes for their whole life does not have one inch of karma. He may have health issues. One non vegetarian meal is enough to put him in hell because the pain of the animal is there. The animal is not going to be blessing and dying when it dies: Oh, “loka samastā sukhi no bhavantu” let everyone be blissful and happy eating my body.

Build a Light Being To Clear Your Karmas

Decide to build light being and even the pets, nature around you will become sweet and light. Charyapada is all about building a light being. In your food, eating style: ask yourself, “Am I feeling light?” Then accept only that food. Never eat anything which makes you heavy. Whether food, thought currents, watching horror movies, clearing all the Karmas you already accumulated itself is a big job. Why do you want to accumulate more karma? Anything which reduces your trust level on the life - avoid. Anything which Ask yourself each thing - horror movie, horror news, does it make me light or heavy? Heavy. Reject. Non-vegetarian food, does it make me heavy or light?Heavy. Reject. That's all is the scale. Anything which makes you light is the lifestyle. Satya (Truthfulness) makes you mentally light. You don't have to constantly remember all the lies you told. That is the greatness of satya. With satya, you can deal your life too simply as a light being. With the light being, you can deal your life.

Avatar: The Divine Intervention To Burn Karma Accumulated Over Many Births

The word 'Avatar' (from the Sanskrit word 'avatarati') means 'one who has descended'. In this case, the word specifically refers to the one who has descended from the very fabric of the Cosmos, the universal Consciousness. The descent of Consciousness into the material embodied form with the apparent attributes of a human being is the actual descent that happens.

HOW UNCLUTCHING BRINGS AWARENESS?

A beautiful story: There was a beautiful garden with many trees and varieties of flowers and fruits. Three friends were walking near this garden that had a big wall around it. One of them climbed the wall and peeped inside. He cried out, 'Oh, such a beautiful garden!' He jumped into the garden and started enjoying the fruits. The second man climbed the wall and saw the garden. He too felt it was beautiful, but he had a little bit of courtesy. He turned and said to the third man who was below, 'Dear friend, there is a beautiful garden below. Come, I am going in.' Saying this, he jumped over and started enjoying the fruits. The third man climbed the wall and saw the garden. He saw his two friends and understood the level of joy and bliss that they were enjoying. Then he said to himself, 'Let me go down and tell all the people about this beautiful paradise. I will bring them all to enjoy this garden.' Incarnations come down only for the love of humanity. Incarnations take a human body just to liberate more beings from the cycle of life and death, from the grip of karma. If you dance and sing the great name of Arunācala and worship him, all the incompletions and karma in your inner-space will disappear, run away! Older than this, there are references in the Upanisads, where, in the joy of enlightenment, Ṛṣis sing, हा वु हा वु हा वु। अहमन्न्र्-महमन्न्र्-महमन्न्र्।अहमन्न्रादो हमन्न्रादो हमन्न्रादः। Hāā Vu Hāā Vu Hāā Vu Ahamannamahamannamahamannam Ahamānando"" Ahamānādaḥ (Taittriya Upanishad, Chapter 3, Bhrigu Valli, Section 10). Ṛṣis sing and dance in the ecstasy of enlightenment and Kundalini awakening.

Avatars Intervene in Your Life As Guru To Erase Your Karma

The reason for your problems is confusion. Confusion means - half an hour before, you took one decision and half an hour after you changed the decision - so this change of decision, like you switched on the fan and switched off the fan, switched on the fan and switched off the fan, in that time, fan moves this side few minutes, this side few minutes and there is little confusion! That's the reason for your sufferings or not manifesting what you want but there is no crime involved in it. The Divine, Avatar intervenes in your life in the form of the Guru, He assumes the form of the Guru just to liberate people from the karma chakra—give inspiration, joy, bliss, and cause miracles and Enlightenment! Who is Guru?

The Sri Guru Gita explains:

गूढविद्या जन्ममाया देहे चाज्ञानसम्भवा। उदयः: स्वप्रकाशेन गुरुशब्देन कथ्यते ॥ 26॥ gūḍavidyā jaganmāyā dehe ca-ajñāna-sambhavā | udayah svaprakāshena guruśabdena kathyate || 26 ||

THE GURU PUJA

In the Guru Pūjā – offering to the Guru - just the Mānasa Pūjā mantra – the verse which pays obeisance to the Guru through inner visualization - will remind you of all the clicks that happened in you. The first line of the Mānasa Pūjā mantra says, ‘Hrut padmam aasanam dadhyaat’, my heart is a seat for You. This very line implies that our heart has to be clean. It is an inbuilt reminder, a click. When this click happens, all our thoughts, words and deeds will automatically become pure and devoid of the quality of attracting more karma. We will think, talk and do things with great awareness not to collect further karma. Then there is the line, ‘Sahasrāra achutaamrutaihi Pādyam charanayor dadhyaat’. Sahasrāra amruta is the deep and sweet taste in your tongue and throat that happens when you overflow with gratitude. Some of you may have experienced this. Especially during Ananda Darśan, you can experience this. How many of you have felt this? During the Ananda Darśan, you suddenly feel the entire throat area feeling sweet. That is what is Sahasrāra amruta – the nectar that happens out of deep gratitude. When you feel fulfilled, the nectar comes down from the Sahasrāra - your crown center at the top of your head, and your whole throat is filled with it. That very nectar is used as the Pādyam or water, to wash the feet of the Divine. It means that when you sit for the Pūjā everyday, in order to experience the nectar, you need to remember the instances or clicks that bring yourself back to that same ecstatic state. If you do not experience that sweet taste in your throat at that moment of Pūjā, you cannot offer Pūjā because then, you would be telling a lie. Only if you have that real feeling again, are you authorized to use those words Sahasrāra achutaamrutaihi Pādyam charanayor dadhyaāt in the Pūjā. The words manu argyam nivedayet mean that you are offering your very mind as food to the Lord. You offer all your Samskāra or engraved memories or karma at Your feet.’ This is another example of the click that has to happen here. The words tena amrutena aachamaneeyam mean, with that same ecstatic nectar, I do the Abhisheka- holy bath - for You. This line will pull you back to that Ananda Darśan experience - that joy, that ecstasy - in order to experience that nectar again. So in this way, every step of this chant reminds you and brings you back to the clicks, to the initiation experiences that happened in you. I have explained just a few words from the Guru Puja mantra. If you go through the whole thing, you will not only appreciate this ritual, you will start appreciating the way in which the entire ritual science has come into play. It is such a beautiful concept. If you understand this, it is enough. Automatically, all unwanted thoughts, words and deeds will leave you, and the Guru's grace will descend upon you in no time. Once that happens, you are liberated. All the deities in our major traditional temples are energized by Incarnations. Gurus like Arunagiri Yogeeshwar from Tiruvannamalai, Patanjali from Chidambaram, Karurar from Thanjavur, Konganavar from Tirupati and Meenakshi from Madurai have energized the deities in some of these temples. Deities are therefore considered to be the very bodies of the Incarnations. Disciples continue serving the deities even after the Gurus leave their physical body. The body of the deity is considered to be the body of the Guru himself. That is the reason why the deities receive the same respect offered to an incarnation. For example, all the disciples initiated by Arunagiri Yogeeshwar will worship the Arunacala temple for generations together. You will see that whatever is offered to the Guru, will be offered to the deity also. Gurus, even after they decide to leave the body, are continuously available to the disciples through the deities that they energized. For example, even during my lifetime, my physical presence is not possible everywhere at the same time. So these deities are programmed to do my work where I am physically not present. They are my representatives. The deities possess independent intelligence. Energizing the deities is a big process. It is like giving birth to a child. These energized deities will directly respond to your prayers. They will directly relate with you if you are open in relating with them. If you see our Pūjā (offering) and our ashram routine, you will see that in the morning, they play the appropriate song to wake up the presiding deity. Then they give a small cup of oil for His hair and a small cup of tooth powder for Him to brush His teeth. Then, they give Him a bath and offer fresh, ironed clothes, just like how they offer to the Guru. They offer food and perform the evening Ārati (ceremoniously waving lit lamps and other items in front of the deities). Five times a day, they offer Pūjā. In the night, they put the deity to bed again in a ceremonious way. All this does not add anything to the deity or to the Guru. It adds only to us. This is what is living with the Divine. This is what is practicing the presence of Divine. Practicing the presence of the Guru is Pūjā. Pūjā is done everyday because it is a technique to remember everyday the presence of the Divine.A click is a sudden awakening that happens in you when you hear or recall particular words. Clicks are like a Dīkṣā or initiation for you. Any time you remember the clicks, they will bail you out of depression or any low or negative feeling. Whenever you are in a low mood or are depressed, if you remind yourself with the right click, you will be doing a great service to yourself. The moment you remember the click, you will simply come out of the low mood.

HAVE AWARENESS IN EVERY ACTION

It is natural that a human being cannot remain still without doing some work. Man must be doing something, anything, all the time. If not physically, at least mentally he does something. Even in sleep, he dreams. If we close our eyes, we watch our inner television. Mentally we think the whole day, but it is not directed in one direction, we are not useful to ourselves and to others. Please understand, when you lack integrity, when you have incompletions mentally, even if you think, it will not be useful thinking. Only an Enlightened person truly keeps his body and mind still. So the normal man is never without activity. This being the case, the only way man can be comfortable and at peace with himself is by not having any expectation of the result of his thoughts or words or actions. This can be achieved by every one of us. Bhagavan Kṛṣṇa says that one who is not concerned about the fruits of his action has truly renounced. Attachment to action and to the results of action creates more desires. Even when an action has been completed and the expected result achieved, as long as one is attached to that action and its result, another desire crops up. Even when one desire is fulfilled, another unfulfilled desire rises. This is a constant, consistent sequence of incompletions. This is what I call karma.

DECIDE TO LIVE AN ENLIGHTENED LIFE

Karma is nothing but unfulfilled, incomplete desires. As long as we have attachment to the action as ‘doer’, which in turns creates an expectation of reward or punishment, we are caught in the cycle of karma and samsāra. Our concern about whether an action or the result is good, bad or a mix of both, follows us as our mental patterns or vāsanā after death. Please understand that no one is ‘up there’

TECHNOLOLOGY OF SURRENDER

Bhagavan Kṛṣṇa lists five factors from Sāṅkhya philosophy responsible for our activities. These are: the body-mind system the operator of the body-mind system (that is the individual) the senses different efforts causing the activities And finally, the Ultimate Power of The Divine.

Deeper Level of Surrender—Mind or Guru?

Next is a deeper level of surrender. This is the level of the senses. The surrender of the senses means that your senses listen to what he says. Normally, when you listen to me, a filter in your mind discounts what you do not agree with. You hear what you want to hear. However, when intellectual and emotional surrender happen, you are ready to surrender this disbelief and unblock your senses. Once a disciple asked his Guru, 'Why should I surrender?' The Guru asked, 'How do you know whatever you think you know about yourself?' The disciple replied, 'I know myself through my senses.' The Guru asked, 'Who do you think you are according to your senses?' The disciple said, 'As far as I know, I am the body and mind.' His Guru responded, 'You are Divine, not just body and mind.' The Guru said, 'Only when you surrender your senses, will you realize the truth of what I am saying. The moment you trust me more than your senses, you experience that you are Divine. You then understand the meaning of Tat Tvam Asi (literally 'You Are That', meaning 'you are divine').' The Guru again and again tries to show that you are Divine. I keep saying, 'I am not here to prove that I am Divine. I am here to prove that you are Divine.' The Guru stands for the idea that you are the infinite. He shows you various dimensions of your inner self that you have not explored or experienced. He shows you so many dimensions of your being. The Guru stands for your multi-dimensional being. He tries to show you that it is possible. He shows that if it is possible for him, it is possible for you also. But as long as you believe your senses, you think that you are the body and mind. When you trust the Guru more than your senses, you understand that the Guru's words are the truth and not your senses. Then you experience the truth of the Guru's words. When the Guru says you are Divine, you suddenly realize the truth for yourself. You understand that you are Divine. You realize that you are not the body or mind as your senses have led you to believe. When you believe the Guru's words more than your senses, you experience this truth. Two voices are speaking from two different levels. On the one hand, your senses tell you that you are the body and mind. On the other hand, the Guru tells you that you are Divine; you are divine and have many dimensions to your being. He tells you to enjoy and experience everything. As long as you listen to your senses, you will not even listen to what the Guru says. When you move away from your senses and come to the Guru, you listen to Him and experience the truth that you are Divine.

meaning, you get in exchange :

a Divine body, a mind in happiness
