80. CID unlawfully passes interrogation footage to media

The CID hatched a vicious plan to force a false confession from His Divine Holiness. They built a special interrogation room, recorded the whole footage and gave it to the media.

LEAKING CCTV FOOTAGE IS ILLEGAL

Leak of security camera footage was illegal. It was to aid unfair trial, it even compromised the security of police investigation unit - outright illegal. The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Zahira Habibullah Sheikh & Anr vs State Of Gujarat has held that,

• ".... fair trial obviously would mean a trial before an impartial Judge, a fair prosecutor and atmosphere of judicial calm."
• "Fair trial means a trial in which bias or prejudice for or against the accused, the witnesses, or the cause which is being tried is eliminated."

The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 contains and defines the procedure which has to be followed in criminal cases.

A special 'interrogation room' was built for torture

The CID officers hired MAASTEK, an agency to design a special interrogation room for interrogating His Divine Holiness. A vicious plan was already in place to force Him to confess a lie and send the interrogation footage to media – and falsely claim that the interrogation footage was 'leaked'.

Shocking CID Work Order Exposes that the interrogation room was specially designed to leak the footage

The police built a special interrogation room suitable for the purpose of the torture, with heavy lights, yet be presentable to the world once it is aired by the media. In the work order issued by the CID to MAASTEK, it was categorically directed to design two rooms: an interrogation room and a viewing room. It was clearly told to customize the room for 'special torture.'

It was clearly instructed to have just one table, one chair and nothing else; to make the whole scene "look real drab". The idea was to give it the look of a neat interrogation room interrogating a criminal, with no distractions to the viewer who watches the leaked footage, keeping his focus entirely on the subject (His Divine Holiness).
