Section 144 of the IPC cannot be applied to a private property. The State Police illegally applied it to the Aadheenam, which is a private property.
The Chief Minister abused his power as the head of the State to drive out and displace 'the victim' residents by illegally enforcing IPC 144 (Curfew) and Sealing the ashram (which was so grossly illegal, that they did not even mention the section which they wanted to impose).
